We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alexis Sierra. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alexis below.
Alexis, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents did a lot of things right, but one thing I can say for sure has impacted my career for the better is setting a foundation for myself to succeed. What I mean is, having a career/trade source of income that can supplement your lifestyle as you pursue your passions. For me, that is Real Estate! I love helping people; to be able use my knowledge and people skills to positively impact the lives of those that seek my services, as well as support myself, is one of my greatest blessings. I’m very glad my parents encouraged me to get my Real Estate license at a young age. As an artist starting out, it can be tough. Not for everyone, but i’m sure a lot of people are familiar with the term “struggling artist”. Having a career I equally love, that also allows me the liberty to follow my dreams, has definitely impacted my journey for the better.
Alexis, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a Film/TV and Commercial Actor based in South Florida, as well as an entrepreneur. What sets me apart is my well-rounded nature! I like to consider myself a multi-hyphenate, which is essentially someone who’s multi-talented or well-versed in many things.
When i’m not performing, I assist people in buying or selling their property. I also help people find their dream rental or list their properties for rent! I enjoy working closely with my clients to help them achieve their real estate goals. It’s important to me as a Realtor to be diligent, knowledgable, and care about keeping my clients informed and ahead of the curve. You can keep up to date with the latest Real Estate news, info, and trends by following my families info page on instagram @Capitalmade_ez. I also recently launched my own production company @Sierrafilm.co where you can check out all my latest personal film projects.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
There are many ways people can support artists, creatives, and cultivate a thriving creative ecosystem for art. One of the easiest ways is simply sharing or supporting their art! Sharing their work on social media, attending shows, or purchasing their work (and NOT asking for that discount) are great ways to show your support. Right now one of the best ways you can support your actor friends is by standing in solidarity with the SAG-AFTRA (Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) strike. While we are extremely excited about the WGA (Writers Guild of America) reaching an agreement for an incredible deal with the AMPTP (Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers), no deal has been made for actors as of yet; leaving millions of actors out of work. Entertainment is a part of our everyday lives, so don’t treat it as second nature just because it doesn’t fall into the typical workforce mentality. Long before we were a “working society”, the world as we know it (technology, entertainment, engineering, and discovery) came to be – through the minds of creative people.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the blessing to be able to create safe spaces where people can feel seen and represented!
