Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Yvonne Hoffmann. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Yvonne, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

It is my mission to bring moms together and support them to become the mother they are at heart! This way I will make the first year of motherhood less overwhelming and more enjoyable. The story behind my mission is personal: I was a 30 year old successful project manager in the movie&commercial industry wondering why having a baby feels lonely, overwhelming, scary yet fulfilling at the same time while the whole world expects moms to be happy all the time (including all those Pampers commercials I have been working for). I had all my life together, the best grades in college, a career – why was I struggling with a new-born?
After signing up for a mommy&me group and reflecting on motherhood I learned to accept that joy and struggle are both part of the adventure and I started to enjoy the time with my baby. I wanted to give something back to new moms and changed my career path.
We live in a society where moms are expected to love being a mother all the time but are not seen and are not supposed to talk about their kids too much (even America Ferrera’s monologue in the Barbie movie picks this up). Giving moms this space, creating emotional connection among mothers and making early motherhood easier for them is so meaningful to me!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I am Yvonne Hoffmann, owner of The Happy Hatchlings Mommy&Me groups and mother of 2 sons.

I used my parental leave to change my career path and become a licensed mommy&me instructor for the FENKID program in Munich (Germany). After moving to the South Bay I started my own business.

I am offering mommy&me groups for babies 0-18month old.

Most moms feel lonely and overwhelmed when they have a baby – I create a supportive community and guide them through early motherhood so they become the mother they are at heart.

I believe while others focus on teaching a specific concept I listen, care and never judge while supporting each mom individually.

I am very proud that so many moms have signed up and especially continued since I opened The Happy Hatchlings Mommy&Me in March 2023. What I am most proud of is that my moms get together outside of class showing that my mission ‚bringing moms together’ is accomplished.

I want everyone to know that everyone is welcome in my mommy&me groups. Like in a good friendship, we share all kinds feelings: there will be laughter and tears at the same time!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source by far is social media especially instagram and facebook.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Listening to my clients and building a true connection has helped me and my reputation. Moms know other moms and spread the word.
