Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Conor Buckley. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Conor, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?
I truly believe I wouldn’t have started my own business if it wasn’t for my parents. Having their support, and continuous encouragement when things got tough was such a blessing. As every entrepreneur knows, there’s many times where we get to a point in our business journey where we are tired and feel like giving up. It was so amazing having my parents tell me to simply not give up and to keep going during those times, is why I believe it all worked out in the end. They taught me how to work extremely hard by setting the examples themselves. They instilled in me from an early age that everything works out for a reason and to trust Jesus and to keep Him at the center point of everything even during the good and bad business years.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
We are an Orange County based videography business that helps Sports and Business Brands with video media. We create commercial videos for business products, sales, campaigns, sports media, athletic apparel and model photography. Since 2018, we have been providing monthly Sports/Business video media for our clients along the west coast. They’ve been able to scale their marketing by using our batch-content method with hundreds of photos and video clips filmed by professional videographers and photographers.
We specifically chose the sports and business realm of video media because I grew up playing baseball. I ended up finishing my collegiate sports career up in Portland, Oregon back in 2014 due to a shoulder injury that required surgery. This time off gave me a chance to explore new hobbies and passions, and that’s when I stumbled upon video creation and the art of story telling. Since graduating with a bachelors in business, I knew I wanted to still be involved with sports even if I couldn’t play anymore competitively. The camera was a chance for me to be as close to the action as possible. I truly believe we bring a specific passion and love to the genre of sports we film because we are athletes ourselves. We bring that personal knowledge and finesse to our video story telling.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Truth be told, relationships and creating those connections is what really grows your clientele the fastest. Networking and connecting with other artists as well as your customers on a regular basis, creates the long-term clients. The times when I’ve had most success isn’t from constantly having new clientele, but maintaining and growing the relationships with my current customers or clients.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I started learning the basics of the camera back in 2017 when I was running a Christian clothing company that I had created with some friends in college. I only wanted to learn the camera so I could take better photos and videos of the clothes. What ended up happening within that process, is I started to learn more and more about what you can do with the camera to help represent your brand the way you wanted. Once I learned the camera, other businesses started asking me to film and capture content for them. Before I knew it, I was creating more from just the camera than I was with clothing at the time. This lead me to dissolve the clothing company and start marketing and branding for other companies through the camera.
