My parents are my biggest heroes and drive me towards everything that I do today. They both have individually played a vital role in making me the person I am today. To me, more than anything in the world, becoming a good human being is of utmost importance. Since my childhood, my parents have been my role models and prime examples of what a human being should be. After my higher education, my elder sister took on that position of role model, and they all continue to do so even today. Even though my father is no longer with me today, his ideals, beliefs, goals, and dreams continue to live on through me. Read more>>

My heroes are the modern film directors burst their way into the industry by making an undeniably incredible short project with their own time and money. A few examples of this are David Sandberg, whose YouTube short film “Kung Fury” is now getting a feature-length blockbuster adaptation, Gareth Edwards, whose independent feature film “Monsters” got him the job doing a slightly larger monster film called Godzilla (2014), and The Daniels, whose numerous low-budget wacky music videos led to larger music videos for famous artists and then eventually the Oscar-winning feature film “Everything Everywhere All At Once”. I’m not sure he would want to be called a hero. He would think that Title would be more suited for the Military, Mother Theresa or Jesus himself; infact I know he would say He was just doing his job: being a Dad. My heroes are my parents. My dad, Apostle G.H. Wiley and mom, Mother Theresa A. Wiley are the epitome of strength and perseverance. Both parents were diagnosed with cancer. My dad was diagnosed with prostate cancer before my younger sister was born and was told that he wouldn’t live to see her birth. Even with the diagnosis, he never stopped showing up to church preaching, teaching Bible Class, and his praise definitely never wavered. Not only did God allow him to see my sister born, but he completely healed him from cancer! When my mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2015, she decided not to accept any treatments prescribed. She never stopped either! I watched her rely on God and He strengthened her. I forgot she even had a cancer diagnosis. Today, she is 8 years cancer free! Their tenacity is what encourages me when life throws curve balls my way, I have their examples that if I just keep pressing, there’s a blessing on the other side. Read more>>

One of my heroes is my Aunt Jeannette. She was a teacher for many years, and eventually opened her owned daycare. After a few years she grew the business to four locations. She also owned a clothing store and hair salon. I spent summers with her and my uncle, watching her build her businesses, while also being an amazing wife, mom and family member. I saw the hours to took to build and maintain, not just the businesses, but to cultivate the relationships with her clients and their families. Read more>>
