We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Megan Thompson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Megan below.
Hi Megan, thanks for joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
As someone who grew up in a military family and lived overseas, I was taught at a young age to fit into the crowd, to not stand out or make yourself a “target.” And although this is not necessarily bad advice, it’s so interesting how advice like this shows up in different areas of our lives as we grow. On the surface, this advice came from a place of love, to protect me and keep me safe in a new country. But as a teen girl internalizing this meant I kept myself small in many ways so as to fit in or keep it safe.
The biggest risk I have taken is to show up fully and authentically me. To take up space, to allow myself to be seen, to be ME wherever I am and with whoever I am around.

Megan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am an Embodiment Coach and Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition Coach, helping to empower womxn to turn their pain into the bridge for their healing, sparking their curiosity and creating space to unfold and live their dharma, their souls purpose!
Our circumstances, our pain…these do not define us nor do they have to have full control of our lives. When we are able to step through our pain into our healing, we are able to create space to live the life we’ve always dreamt of. My mentorships and programs are designed to help you do just that! My goal is to guide you into your healing, into your joy, in embodying your best self, and to help you create a soul aligned life!
My mentorships consist of deep self discovery through the archetypes, creating a solid foundation in the 3 pillars of health: nutrition, sleep, and energy, and releasing limitations.
Beyond coaching I am a certified yoga instructor, offering a variety of practices like yoga flow, sculpt, restorative/yin, and meditation.
I see life thru the lens of Ayurveda, which teaches us how to be in flow with nature and each other. No matter how you choose to collaborate with me, Ayurveda will always be the guiding perspective!

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Hustle culture. More is better.
That working hard means success.
I grew up thinking that if you put your all into a job that you would be rewarded and grow would happen. But that is just not reality. Plenty of people work hard and are not rewarded.
The real lesson is to go after what lights you up, what you are passionate about, what challenges you and pushes you to grow, where you are curious. And advocate for yourself. Know when you deserve more for your hard work, go where you are valued and appreciated.
I worked too many jobs where I was undervalued and underpaid. I never regret giving any job my 100%, regardless of the job I will always give 100%. But I will always advocate for what I deserve! And so should you!

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Curiosity
And this is not just my field, I’d say for everyone! Being curious has taught me to stay open, seek mentors, and dive into exploration.
My curiosity, combined with life’s curveballs, pushed me into a spiritual journey that cracked me open and revealed my true calling as a healer.
Stay curious and see how that helps you grow!
