Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ariel Becker. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ariel, thanks for joining us today. One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
This is one of the most positive experiences that happened to me with amazing clients.
Over 20 years ago we planned and produced a Ten Year Anniversary party for our client.
Very special event. All guests are seated on pillows, all food is to be served on floor level and meand to be eaten by bare hand. All 12 courses accompanied by world class wines with ration of one waiter per 2 guests. All this at the back lawn of the house facing the beautiful sunset and the Mediteranean Sea few yards away from us.
The decor, the thousands of candles, the furniture, waiters uniform and more all set for the most amazing event planned to start in an hour……when suddenly, out of the blue a sand storm and crazy wind appeared. The waves grew higher , the sand flew in. We all run to protect the food and decor.
I suddenly saw the host and his wife, both beautiful, dressed in white linen clothes standing by the water and smiling. The wife was a well known Israeli model and the husband a world renowned French Moroccan diamond dealer and designer.
I went to see what is it that they are smiling about as they had all the reseons to be upset as the event may get ruined.
The husband looked at me and with his heavy French accent said: “LOOK ARIEL WHAT A HAPPY OCCASION………EVEN THE SEA IS DANCING FOR US.
Being a positive person my self, I never heard such an amazing line.
20 years later I still use this story and punch line with my clients to find the positive in everything.
When

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Ariel Becker, I am the owner and CEO of Becker and the Co. We are an Event Planning and Production company based in the heart of Beverly Hills CA. We plan and produce large variety of event. Corporate, Galas, Weddings, Bar Mitzvah and every need for a special occasion.
Born and raised in Israel I moved to Miami in the early 80’s to study Hotel and Travel and Tourism Management.
Worked my way up from a dishwasher to Food and Beverage Manager at Williams Island. Once graduated O moved back to Israel as the Director of Catering at the Tel Aviv Hilton and later the General Manager at Carmel Forest Spa Resort. Once leaving the hotel I opened my own Event Planning company and produced neumerous events in Israel but also in Turkey, Austria, the US and yes, also in Kazakhstan.
In 2005 I moved to the US and joined Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a Hotel Director managing some of the worlds largest ships. After a few years I was offered a position at the World Bank Organization for RAm as Regional VP of Operations for Food and Beverage,Catering, Conferencing and Retail.
Once over I moved to LA and opened Becker and the CO.
Our strength comes not only from experience but mainly from the multifacet talented team I have here with me. We all compliment each other to ensure perfection at any event.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Pandemic Time
During the hard days of the pandemic most of the industry was stalling.
We kept on communicating with our clients and produced multiple micro events for them.
We came out stronger as a team and leaders in the industry
How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The term managing feels empty to me.
It is all about leadership, all about being a role model to your team.
Treating all with respect.
I live by the frase: Kindness is more important than wisdom. Wise people know that.
