We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Beezle Curry. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Beezle below.
Beezle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
My first word was actually tattoo, my father was and is a tattoo artist and shop owner. So growing up going to the family shop and hanging out with all the artists, I knew I both loved and wanted to pursue art. I still remember to this day learning how to draw a traditional skull from one of the apprentices at the time Derik, who’s now the shop supervisor and in year 14 of his career.

Beezle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I go by Beezle a nickname given to me by my elder brother. I’m an up and coming tattoo artist in douglasville, Ga. I have absolutely adored my craft from a young age and have essentially studied it since birth. I started my apprenticeship while I was still in highschool and have since become a floor artist and manager at my family shop Big Time Customz under my father Tony Loco. I specialize in neo-traditional and Japanese neo-traditional but I can do just about any style.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to be able to carry on my family shop to the next generation of artists, after 20 years we’ve seen many great tattooists grow and flourish here, and I believe that that legacy of community and artistry should continue to uplift artists for another 20 years, or maybe even more. My goal isn’t just to satisfy and impress my clients through artistic expression, but to impress and inspire my fellow artists as well.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Seeing the joy and admiration in people’s eyes when they see an art piece that truly impresses and inspires them. There’s a twinkle in the eye of inspiration that I believe fuels the lifeblood of human existence, it’s the place from which we find the birth of creation, and starting that spark in someone, even just once in a lifetime, makes it all worth it.
