Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Logan Harding. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Logan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One deeply underappreciated facet of entrepreneurship is the kind of crazy stuff we have to deal with as business owners. Sometimes it’s crazy positive sometimes it’s crazy negative, but crazy experiences unite entrepreneurs regardless of industry. Can you share a crazy story with our readers?
Most of my work is producing media for luxury real estate. I got a call from an agent who was a referral, and we scheduled our first home (just over $1M). I received a call from the client 10 minutes before showing up, and they were asking about my vaccine status because the homeowner is very militant about their beliefs. I informed my client, and they said it should all be fine.
Within 15 seconds of arriving at the home, the owner was asking about my vaccine status. We happen to be on opposite sides of the issue, and they proceeded to lecture me about my health, their health, and how their health was more important than mine. Then we proceeded to do a walk-through of the home, and all the while, they spoke in extreme condescending tones about everything.
To be honest, I almost walked off the job. I’ve never been treated so rudely! My poor client felt so bad about the whole thing, too! It turned out that they were the 3rd agent that these owners had gone through. They were being treated JUST as badly. The owners (husband and wife) were simply competing to see who could treat people the worst.
I ended up staying and shooting the entire home. We delivered the media, and the next day, they responded that “these are the best pictures we’ve had taken of our home yet!” The agent and I thought this was the end of the story.
NO.
The owners called the agent the next day claiming that ‘something happened’ while I was ‘unobserved’ and they would follow any legal means necessary to make it right. The agent asked what happened, but they wouldn’t tell! They simply said they had to talk to me directly. They also texted me the same thing. This was pretty funny, actually, because there was no moment on that property where I was unobserved. They were home the entire time, and there were multiple security cameras in every room and outdoors.
I tried calling and texting them back to clear up whatever they were trying to falsify, but they never returned my calls. They told the agent that they were VERY unhappy with the images (after looking at them again) and that they would not be using any of our media. They required that the agent buy the previous images from the previous agent.
My client finally brought in a few buyers, but the owners didn’t like them for some reason, and said that the agent didn’t bring ‘enough’ buyers. She finally dropped them at that point and moved on. This was the worst job and interaction I’ve ever had with people.
But, the story doesn’t end there!
The agent called me back the next day, and said that her husband had started a non-profit fighting human trafficking, and they were looking for a local video guy. She really liked my work, and said that I should call her husband.
It turned out that her husband is Craig (Sawman) Sawyer. Navy SEAL, Marine Sniper, Sniper Instructor, and Federal Air Marshal. All around, one of the best badasses you’ll ever meet. He’s the real deal. Once he found out about the human trafficking happening right here on American soil, he founded Veterans For Child Rescue (V4CR) and now does joint ops with law enforcement to take down traffickers and rescues children.
This mission of fighting trafficking has been on my heart for a long time, and it was a no-brainer to see about working with Craig and his team. We talked, and jumped right into planning a marketing video for V4CR and Rancho Milagro, an equine therapy ranch in Scottsdale, AZ. We JUST wrapped up this project, and it’s been one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. We’re now going to use this experience and video to springboard into much larger projects to grow the business and have more of an eternal impact.

Logan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
To paint a broad stroke, we tell a business’s story in a uniquely client focused way. This is done through creative scripting, cinematic video, innovative photography, and genuine social media branding/marketing.
I started the business here in Tucson when we moved in 2020. With a focus in luxury real estate, we’ve established a name and built connections throughout Southern Arizona, and are now adding commercial and non-profit marketing. I have a Bachelor’s in Media Production, over 20 years experience. My goal is to bring cutting edge video and photography, rooted in the timeless feel of cinema, to a brand’s marketing table. If I had to give Shadowpoint Media a character, it would be Jason Bourne. Competent beyond question, having the right tools for the job, humble, confident, and always ready to solve a problem with the utmost character.
Sam brings editing to the next level. He’s quick, creative, and always ready to tackle the next challenge. Photoshop, Lightroom, and Davinci Resolve are his main toolkit, and man does he know how to use them!
Shawn takes storytelling to new depths. He’s not satisfied until we’ve found every gold nougat of a brand’s story to share properly. Taking that, and turning it into a powerful script is his strong suit.
Audrey pushes her creative limits with digital content and social media marketing. While currently pursuing a degree at the U of A, she uses her skillset to make our clients shine in the digital realm.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Two and a half years ago, my wife and I were broke and pretty much homeless. Having been fired from my full time corporate job in NC in 2019, we lost our apartment while parenting our 2 and 3 year old. This was an all time low for us. We lived with friends for 10 months while trying to find more work, but nothing came through that would support our family.
We had visited my wife’s family in Tucson over the last Thanksgiving, and we’d always talked about wanting to live closer to them, so this was the perfect time. Nothing was holding us back (or supporting us) in Raleigh. We packed up, and headed across the country. Right as COVID broke out. Talk of borders closing, gas stations closing, and restaurants closing stressed the 4 day drive as we made our way here.
My wife and I agreed that I could take 1 month to try and start my own business. No one was hiring at the time anyways, so I gave it my all. I made my business plan, created an email template, and started cold calling realtors. 8 hours a day. 6 days a week.
At the end of the month, I only had 3 jobs total, and no business to speak of. We agreed that I would look for a regular job, and so I did for the next 2 days. On the 2nd or 3rd day, I started getting callbacks. I got so busy that I couldn’t spend time looking for a job, and my business took off!
We’ve grown from being broke and with no home of our own, to breaking six figures in 2 years. God has blessed this business tremendously. We’ve been part of 3 record breaking, newsworthy real estate transactions in the last year and a half, and our work has gone global. We’re shooting for the stars now!
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My audience may be small, but they are mighty! I’ve been very intentional about my use of Instagram, and I now get about 20-30% of my business from it. Utilizing the main feed, I share my best work. From photos to videos, this is where it goes. I’ve found that throwing my face in there every so often really boosts engagement, and those posts easily get twice the attention that any of my media does! It’s all about the brand, and the person behind it. People want to know and see YOU!
Using hashtags has been an AWESOME tool! I’ve landed several jobs from people who searched for specific hashtags that I have chosen to use. Being intentional about them has worked well. From shooting an Eastern Indian destination wedding and riding in the helicopter to shoot 25 gallons of rose petals being dumped on the ceremony to shooting a multi-million dollar luxury listing…hashtags landed those for me.
Jumping into the stories section has really helped share more personal, behind the scenes of my business. I’ve had a lot of feedback that people love watching my stories to see all the beautiful homes I’m privileged to be shooting. This is where I like to show people that I really am out there, working every day, shooting, editing, meeting, and serving amazing brands.
