We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Nasya XO. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Nasya below.
Nasya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I took it upon myself to learn producing and engineering through YouTube. I acquired the information pretty fast but I love to learn the techniques of others. The responsibilities of life and my own procrastination stood in the way of learning more.
Nasya, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am from the small city of Shreveport, Louisiana with little to no creative opportunity. After moving to Dallas, Texas, I got into the music industry by networking at local events. Meeting other artists led me to land gigs and performances on plenty of stages. For a while I produced and engineered for other artists as well, rates starting from $25 a hour. I’ve done a handful of collaborations, features with local singers and rappers. What sets me apart is my talent, sometimes I don’t have to try hard to get projects done so with my work ethic included, it makes me more proficient. I am proud that I accomplished most of my achievements alone. When I started working for myself, I didn’t have much help. For instance, my first album in 2021 was 80% produced, 100% engineered, recorded and written by me. As of now I am looking for a team to help me get to where I want to be because after many trials and errors, I’ve came to the conclusion that I shouldn’t be working alone. Tackling goals alone takes a strong will and ambition to do so. My music is on every streaming platform. I am a performer, singer, songwriter, producer that in Gods timing will receive the recognition deserved.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Instead of going off norms and standards or what’s currently trending, Try scouting artists with unique talent and creativity.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Having supporters who genuinely enjoy your creations.
