We recently connected with Kallie Caton and have shared our conversation below.
Kallie , appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
As a birth worker, my main goal is to break the current stigma of birth and protect women and families from that stigma. In our society, we don’t know enough about birth, especially women, and when we don’t know about it , we can’t honor, respect and celebrate it. Birth matters to everyone because everyone has been born and if there’s any legacy I would hope to leave behind, it’s that I constantly strived to protect and honor birth as it was meant to be.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
So, I am a doula and a birth photographer. For those that don’t know, a doula is a person who supports women emotionally and physically during birth. Most of the women that hire me are giving birth at home and want an unmedicated birth and this requires a ton of support and love and wisdom and I fill that cup as much as I can, while also empowering them in their ability to do it. There’s genuinely no better feeling then witnessing a woman step into her truest power and giving birth the way her body was intended to and in this work, I feel like I’m on a permanent high of pride over these women and what they accomplish. When I leave births, my clients always say “I couldn’t have done that without you” and my favorite response to that is, “you totally could.” This business is very little about me and a whole lot about women and keeping them safe and protected and empowered.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Authenticity, honestly. I am very true to my beliefs and my social media reflects that. I truly believe that most of the people who follow me know the type of content they’re going to consume when following me and it’s meaningful and educational and honest to my brand.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Definitely community and word of mouth. There is a huge and amazing birth worker community in South Florida and the relationships I’ve built with them have made such a significant impact in my growth. The cool thing is, we all grow together because we’re not competing with each other, we are passionate about helping women.
