Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ayden Nguyen. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Ayden thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
The first job I ever booked was dancing on stage with Justin Bieber on the Purpose Tour at the American Airlines Center. I think I was 6 years old. The stage was so big and there were so many people in the audience. But I had SO much fun and it just felt so natural, I wasn’t nervous at all. It was that moment that I knew this is what I want to do.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started dancing at a very young age growing up in Dallas, TX. I began taking hip hop dance classes locally and started to gain exposure to more choreographers in the industry and went to Los Angeles for the first time on my 6th birthday. I signed with my first ever agency at the age of 7. I started working as a professional dancer booking jobs and got to meet and perform with so many musical artists. My dance journey led me to even more opportunities in different countries. I love to travel overseas and being able to visit new places, meeting new people and experience different parts of the world. My mom has always supported me and helped me throughout my career. She gave up her job to help me pursue my love for dance. I’m so grateful for my mom that believed in me.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My journey started out with just dancing, I was a little kid that just loved to dance. But my passion for dance grew into an overall love for music and wanting to create. I love creating choreography and teaching and feel really connected with students. I want to inspire other people to chase their dreams and goals. Not just in dance but to keep reaching for goals, no matter how big or small and see what they can achieve.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
For me and other people in the industry Covid was a hard time for dancers. Everything was shut down, there were no more dance classes, shows and concerts were cancelled and our talents couldn’t be used. I was at a very miserable time and didn’t dance as much as i did before the pandemic. My passion for dance slowly faded away so what I did to lock back in was create choreo. During that time many people were isolated I felt like giving up on dance. I listened to music a lot and found my passion again and remembered why I started this path in the first place. I started to enjoy singing and learning to play the piano. I was able to explore different forms of artistic expression through music and that has opened up more possibilities and opportunities for me.
