Hi Catherine , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I don’t remember the exact moment I knew however, I feel like I’ve always known I wanted to be an actress. As a child and now, I love the applause and attention that I receive from putting on a good performance.
Catherine , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started as a child model, which led to my acting career. Sharing my journey on Instagram gained me followers and popularity. What sets me apart on Instagram is my commercial training. As a child actress, I took various acting classes, making product promotion second nature. I’m most proud of my personal growth. Initially, insecurities held me back, but as I grew, my confidence and mindset improved tremendously.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I don’t necessarily have one story of resilience, but I can describe my resilience in the entertainment industry. I learned early on that even though you feel your auditions are great doesn’t mean you are booking the job. “No’s” became a burden on my shoulders. But, I learned that “no” is a part of the process and that I can’t let it burden me.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an actress is being able to convey stories. Beautiful plays take years to be written and revised. Being able to share a playwright’s story is rewarding for me. Having the audience feel the emotions and be captured by the story is always the goal, but it’s incredibly rewarding when it happens.
