Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Natalie Feinblatt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Natalie, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you get your first job in the field that you practice in today?
Once I had graduated with my BA in Psychology, I wanted to start working in the field as I worked toward my MA. There aren’t too many jobs that hire people with just BAs, and I came to find out that the most common opportunity was working as a one-on-one aide for children in the Autism spectrum. I felt extremely green but I took on the job with enthusiasm. I worked in this position for over 3 years, and absolutely learned a lot about being a mental health provider. While I figured out pretty early on that working with kids on the spectrum was not my ultimate career goal, I gained many valuable clinical tools during my time at this job. I built very strong, healthy relationships with several of the families I worked with nearly the entire time I was there. Things I still carry today include the belief that slow progress is still progress, and that patience is a valuable clinical skill.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Prior to starting my private practice 8 years ago I spent about a decade working in all different levels of addiction treatment. Then I finally broke off on my own and started my practice, where I specialize in helping my clients overcome the profound impact of trauma and the complex web of addiction. My approach is holistic, addressing not only the symptoms but also the root causes of these issues. Through evidence-based therapies, personalized treatment plans, and a compassionate therapeutic relationship, I assist my clients in reclaiming their lives, finding inner strength, and fostering lasting change. What sets my practice apart is my unwavering commitment to each client’s unique journey to recovery. I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their trauma and addiction experiences openly. My therapeutic approach is highly collaborative, incorporating the latest research and innovations in the field. I’m also deeply committed to ongoing professional development to ensure my clients receive the most effective and up-to-date care.I am most proud of the transformative journeys I’ve had the privilege to witness in my clients. The moments when individuals discover their inner resilience, heal deep wounds, and break free from the chains of addiction are incredibly rewarding. It’s a testament to the power of therapy and the human spirit. I want potential clients to know that my practice is a place of hope, healing, and growth. If you’re seeking support to overcome trauma or addiction, I am here to walk beside you on your path to recovery. My commitment is not just to alleviate symptoms but to empower you to lead a fulfilling life beyond therapy. Together, we can uncover your inner strength and resilience.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could turn back the hands of time, I would make the same choice without a moment’s hesitation – to become a psychologist. This profession has been an extraordinary journey filled with the privilege of witnessing resilience, growth, and transformation in the lives of those I serve.
Every day, I am reminded of the profound impact psychology can have on individuals who are on a path to healing from trauma and addiction. It’s not just a career; it’s a calling. The opportunity to be a guiding light in someone’s darkest moments, to help them rediscover their inner strength, and to support their journey to a healthier, happier life is a privilege beyond measure.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
My reputation in the local market is grounded in the therapy I provide to my clients and the collaborative relationships I’ve fostered with other health professionals. I firmly believe that effective therapy extends beyond the therapy room, and it’s a holistic approach that sets me apart.
First and foremost, my commitment to my clients’ well-being is unwavering. I take great pride in the transformative work we do together, addressing the complex issues of trauma and addiction. Seeing clients regain control over their lives, one step at a time, is the ultimate testament to the quality of care they receive.
Moreover, I understand the importance of a network of support in the healing process. That’s why I actively collaborate with other health professionals in the community. By connecting with physicians, addiction specialists, psychiatrists, and other experts, I ensure that my clients receive comprehensive and well-rounded care. These collaborative efforts enhance the effectiveness of treatment and contribute to better outcomes for those I serve.
My reputation as a psychologist is not just built on my therapeutic expertise but also on the trust and respect I’ve earned from fellow healthcare providers in the area. Together, we form a supportive network that prioritizes the holistic well-being of our clients.
