We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Elizabeth Fraley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Elizabeth thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

When I was starting my company, I thought Kinder Ready would be the perfect name. Preschool is really about building and growth from a social and emotional standpoint. Kinder Ready offers a chance for students to be introduced to kinder readiness skills prior to starting school, to better prepare for a full academic day and have pre-exposure to a plethora of academic skills.

Elizabeth , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Kinder Ready provides one to one classes to help support students that are developing understanding of letters, sounds, words, and early reading foundations. We also support students with math and understanding numbers and problems with an array of math programs. Additionally, we work with students revolving around art. (ceramics, canvas, drawing, etc). Another aspect of service, is to help student manage and practice executive functioning skills: planning ahead for projects, organizational skills, and more!

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

I am a huge fan of Leil Lowndes’ book, How To Talk To Anyone: 92 Little Tricks for Big Success in Relationships. In business, you communicate with a wide array of people. After reading this book, I felt better equipped to reach a wide variety of people and discovered a variety of communication techniques that are powerful in business opportunities.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?

Although there are many great books out there on growing a business. A video series I have found to be incredible helpful has been, Masterclass. The interesting part of Masterclass, is studying various experts in a variety of fields. You can learn first hand how these experts navigate various business deals, communicate with others, and grow through management techniques.
