We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Austin Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Austin below.
Alright, Austin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
When I was young, I was hyper and foolish. But my parent’s were not. They did everything to make sure I was a good person. They taught me how to be nice to people. They once told me: treat others with the same amount of love and respect as you would expect in return. There were some decisions I regretted when I was young. But because of my parents I learned to be better once I got older. I really appreciate my parents and what they have done for me. I am forever thankful.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My art is about entertainment and change. I create art to leave a positive impact on others in hopes that it will change the world in a good way.
My main inspirations for my work are my life in general and my hobbies. The people I meet, the things I do, games I play, books I read, movies I watch, the videos I create. All sorts of stuff. Even the world around me gets me brainstorming ideas. I have a very active imagination.
My main line of craft is drawing, painting, and digital art. I often come up with an idea first or a sketch, then I just execute the piece from there. Sometimes there is a development stage, but it often is spontaneous. I like to use Adobe Photoshop a lot for my work, but my favorite art technique is drawing.
I would say what I am most proud of about my work is the happiness it brings to my consumers. My art is usually very bright and upbeat, and I like the smiles and reactions I get from people when they view it.
I’d say what sets me apart from most artists would be that I have a very unique and original vision towards storytelling and character creation.
Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think they are total BS. The whole point of making original artwork is to have something to hold and treasure. Not something anyone can easily replicate. I feel like art should be something that you can not only display on a computer desktop, but hang on your wall. NFTs just feel like the market is trying to scam us. I would not buy into it. Nor would I support it.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The power to create literally ANYTHING. It kind of puts you in the position of a god or something. Whatever you imagine, you can bring it to life. That is what most excites me about being an artist. Additionally, the effect you have on the world when people enjoy your art is a feeling that is very rewarding. I love the emotion you get out of people.
