We were lucky to catch up with Lisa Joshi recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Lisa thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What was the most important lesson/experience you had in a job that has helped you as a business owner?
One of the most important lessons I have learned at jobs I’ve done in the past, is how you treat your Employees/Cast members matter! I remember not feeling valued or appreciated at a past job and I vowed to never make anyone else feel that way with my company. I strongly believe in treating everyone with kindness and respect. I have seen first hand how much more of an effort others make when they feel valued, and that their ideas matter.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
With event planning and entertainment, many customers who book feel stressed about the entire process. My goal is to listen to all of their concerns and requests, and make everything as stress free for them as humanly possible! Ultimately I want your event to be every bit as magical as you do! We always make sure to take notes of all the little details and plan ahead!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Initially starting a business I think friends and family is a great place to start! You don’t realize how many people you end up connecting with just from friend and family referrals. Especially in the beginning of starting my company, majority of our customers came from word of mouth and personal recommendations! It’s a great place to start because as more and more people refer you, more people in turn start seeing your company. After time you’ll start to notice your audience growing with each event!

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
One of the most resourceful books I have come across for business owners is called “The 5 languages of appreciation in the workplace”. It really delves into different approaches to take with different personalities in the workplace. Something that may make one person feel valued and appreciated, may not make another person feel that way. It really gives a great insight into different types of personalities and how to approach them.
