Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Sonia Romero. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Sonia, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear the story behind how you got your first job in field that you currently practice in.
Although I didn’t know it at the time, my holistic journey really began with healing my own body as new mom, fighting for my life for 15 days with Toxemia after giving birth to my old son. I was in a wheel chair not able to walk with out support and unrecognizable. Then 6 months later being diagnosed with uterine cancer. at the age of 24 years old. a journey that has taken me into a career of helping others face their health challenges and know that they too can make it through. If they are willing to nurture their bodies with the right foods, patiences, self-kindness and determination.
Sonia, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’ve been coaching in the health and wellness world for 31 years. I have to boys and a cat. Clients often come to me for help with losing weight, inflammation diseases, or just wanting to understand clean eating and proper nutrition for their specific body and symptoms. I build meal plans in a functional medicine way and grocery list, for my clients along with daily self-care practices to heal their body. but my specialty is in Gut Health. I use specific supplements, and share many resources for the healing needs. I introduce them to the wide world of holistic health which is about so much more than looking good and treating symptoms. And I help them discover and harness their own bodies healing powers. I love making healthy food taste like they are cheating on their diet. I think it’s important that we learn how to eat health and stop dieting, Their should not be good foods and bad foods, just foods that heal your body and foods that do not.

I love helping my clients reverse disease and take control over their health and daily habits. I’ve also just completed an untitled TV pilot about Food Sustainability.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Result’s, I have been in the health and wellness world for 31 years now and I have only received clients through word of mouth. Client’s sending their family, coworkers and friends. Also through clients that have brought me into their work world, asking me to do workshops, retreats and health events. For years, I have taught holistic health, to FBI agency’s, Business meetings in front of 100’s, Commercial Real Estate Companies of over 600 people, Hospitals for the nursing staff and even a 3 day event in the Los Angeles convention center to over 8000 people. The strategy, is delivering a personal experience with my one-on-one clients going the extra mile my business has been the biggest blessing.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One crucial lesson in the holistic health business I had to unlearn was the belief that success solely depended on offering a wide range of services. Initially, I thought diversifying our offerings would attract more clients. However, the backstory revealed a different truth. Instead of spreading ourselves thin, we discovered that focusing on a few core services allowed us to excel in them. By channeling our expertise and resources, we improved quality, gained a loyal client base, and boosted profitability. This shift taught us the value of specialization and the importance of delivering exceptional care within our niche, ultimately propelling our holistic health business to new heights
