We recently connected with Humberto Gorgonio Juarez and have shared our conversation below.

Humberto, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.

My first client was back during the pandemic, the New Yorker had a section for food reviews and exposure called “Grub Street” they reached out to use one of my Pictures i had taken for a chef that i worked with at flag ship Jean Georges Restaurant. I had gotten payed 50 dollars for the picture, was i excited about the pay maybe not so much but it was my first experience to get published for a major company.

Humberto, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Growing up in a time when DVDs were a thing still there was always the ending behind the scenes for every movie. There is where i started to fall in love with how a whole production would come about, they would interview the directors and the actors involved. From there something inside sparked and i knew it was a industry i could aim for, fast forward to my time in college i was studying for film studies at Kings-borough Community College, there i learned how to edit a professional level learning from the best with Professor Acosta, we used “Avid” this software is industry standard for the film industry. From there i moved to a four year college City Tech CUNY i was lost at that point to what i really wanted for my self and a career for the rest of my life. I took a very risky life changing decision to stop going to college half way through, keep in mind i paid all my studies out of pocket and that also added to that factor in my decision, but doing so has brought me where i am now and i never regret it ever since.

Fast forward to my first productions, my purpose was to keep myself consistent with how much content i would put out to the world and that meant investing all my resources to this big machine i started to create. The need to structure what i was really trying to provide for clients was this process of five years of producing my own projects and consecutive reading’s and research on the Multi Media industry, this is very confusing yes because originally i wanted to be around movie sets, but this connects why? Well understanding how to produce from beginning to end and what it takes to make it happen is what helps me consult clients when they want to make content for their image for the world.

My great friend Chef David George let me film a lot of his recipes, at this point i was still auto producing more complex projects that would later on help me get clients that i dreamed on having. Then my first break through in the industry came in when a friend of mines Barney reached out and told me about taking pictures for this big Mexican Artist who was looking to take a picture for his billboard Ad in Times Square. He trusted me on capturing that big moment mile stone for him, i was very nervous i was in shock i was doing it, that’s what i was aiming for all those years of consistent work. From there and out i was reached out to create content for a Mexican music band called Los Preferidos, i knew i was consulting and never saw myself as one but it was there where that realize that was my name tittle for career choice. Multi-Media Consultant it worked, my vision and ideas worked and took us to places we never saw coming.

For this year of 2023, i finally re-structure myself and made my company brand official “004 Media Group” why the two zeros and the four you may ask this always stuck because that was the suggestion my social media app gave me when creating an account. Artist’s in New York City reach out to help them make content for their bands and brands, my services provided are

– Building a foundation
– Structuring who you want to be
– Produce content that impacts fans
– Question why do what you do?
– Following the flow of industry market

These key points are very important on the process of building a project or image for a client, and so much more factors. Recently with all the content i have been putting out with my current client i have seen the result of having consistency and a plan to execute from beginning to end. This has made many artist and producers and records labels turn around and see how much potential there is in New York City. That’s what it’s always been about, we have not gotten one major international or national Mexican Artist straight out New York City and this can be the first time we see one.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

The fine dining culinary world founded my company since day one, thats were i learned how to present myself as person and build character for myself. The money i was making at the time was more than the average person in any starting career for many professionals. This how i got my first film Camera, my editing softwares and computer, i knew i needed to get what i needed and leave that world behind, keeping up at Michelin star restaurant is not easy is almost like being in college all over again because you are surrounded with some of most influential individuals in the planet, and the expectations and investment of time is very high and that i could not.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Making this whole process work has had many pauses that have thought me to keep going even when things don’t seem to move at all one bit at all. Not having support from my own family initially was a big one because i thought i really was doing the wrong choice for my life, but then i had to understand they all talked from there own experiences and that i had to respect. It all came down to me and constantly reminding myself that only i had control of how things were going to be executed and when, some one once told me its “not t a race, its what you do to get there” and that’s what always grounds me when things don’t go according to plan every single time when things fall off with major clients.
