We were lucky to catch up with David Christopher recently and have shared our conversation below.
David, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To be successful, I believe it comes down to these factors; vision, action and discipline. You need to have a vision for what you want to achieve. You then need a plan. The plan doesn’t have to be perfect, but at least an outline to get you started. From here, I believe it takes enormous action and belief in what you are trying to accomplish. You need to be passionate about it and be open to learning and adapting along the way. There will be many set backs and discouraging times while you are on your journey, but you can’t quit. This is where I believe discipline plays a huge factor and can determine whether you are successful or not. You need to work when you don’t feel like it. You will need to develop the discipline to keep pushing yourself and doing what’s necessary in order to keep moving forward even when you feel discouraged or defeated. You need to have mental toughness because, a lot of times, it just comes down to being able to outlast your struggles and fear.

David, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello,
I am the CEO and founder of the streaming fitness and entertainment platform Fit TV Network, an app with incredibly diverse fitness and entertainment content. I am also the founder of the innovative combat sports entertainment promotion Influencer Fight League.
I originally got my start in the entertainment industry through music. I was the guitarist/songwriter in a punk band. Additionally, over the years, I have developed a very colorful backround, with experience as a show/event producer, writer, fitness trainer and actor. I have also appeared on many reality TV shows that have been featured on Amazon Prime, Peacock Network, CMT and Lifetime.
I have a big passion for entertainment and fitness. So, I learned to encompass this into a career. I truly believe it’s important to do what you are passionate about in life and to try to find a way you can do it for a living. With, Fit TV network and Influencer Fight League, we get to provide a unique and exciting experience. We are story telling, providing insightful content and creating entertainment through athletics, sports, competition, health and fitness. It’s very special.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Yes, when I was performing as a musician, there came a lot of sacrifice, ups, downs and everything in between. Though I truly loved doing music, after many years it became time to step away from the industry and take a new path. I remember this being extremely challenging for me as music was my entire life at that point. I was confused, unsure of what to do or which steps to take going forward. So I leaned heavily on the gym and my fitness as an outlet to cope with the transition. Ironically, fitness evolved from being my outlet to becoming a new career that I never saw coming. I started doing some fitness modeling and that led to me sporadically helping train some friends in the gym, to eventually becoming a full-blown trainer. And ironically, as life would have it, I would still find my way back around the entertainment industry, establishing my own training business with many clients involved in the entertainment industry. This is putting the journey in a nutshell, Ha… but this whole transition wasn’t easy at all. I had to learn a new business with the fitness industry. I had to rebrand from a “music guy” to a legitimate and recognized trainer. I had to develop a new skill set, educate myself on the body and find my niche within the space. Marketing was a learning process as well for this new endeavor. It was definitely a struggle and took me awhile to find myself within being a trainer and the fitness industry in general. It was a full blown pivot from who I once was to who I would eventually become. But in the end, it was a great thing to happen because it’s what eventually led me to start Fit TV Network and then Influencer Fight League.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
How you treat people is most important. Having compassion and integrity. I listen to people, I care. Do good by others and do what you say. I also have what many have called an extreme work ethic and strong discipline. I’m passionate, driven and I’m always looking to do things with originality.
