We recently connected with Jayden (JP) Price and have shared our conversation below.
Jayden (JP), thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
I think a lot of people want to be successful but not everyone wants to put in the work and have the patience. I feel that in order to be successful you have to have a certain grit and edge, like there is nothing that’s going to get in your way of where you’re going. It’s really a go get it mentality, nobody gone get it for you. And the other thing is people don’t want to wait their turn and have patience. Everyone who puts in the work, stays solid, and waits their turn gets their opportunity. It’s on you to take that opportunity and run with it. I’m telling you if you keep putting in the work your opportunity will come. The way I think about it is, ‘if I quit today I could’ve missed my opportunity tomorrow’. There are going to be days when you want to give up and quit but I promise that your time is coming.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into business when I was 17 but really had a businessman mindset at the age of 15. I started my first clothing brand called GLbL LoVE my senior year of high school and it did alright at the start but I just didn’t keep up with it. For me that first brand was a test run to see if business was actually something that I wanted to do and commit to. I think GLbL LoVE is something that I will pass down to my younger brother on some Ye and Ian Connor type deal, if that something he wants to do of course.
As for now I create, consult, direct and now venturing into DJ world as well. I’ve always loved to create and make things that I like. A lot of people now and days create and do things because it’s popular or they think they will make quick and easy money. I do it for the complete opposite. I create because I genuinely love and enjoy it. I make clothes that I want to wear or pieces that I want in my personal wardrobe/collection. I consult because I genuinely want to help people and see them succeed. I want to help others bring their ideas life and make it reality. I direct videos and photoshoots because to me that’s a form of art, and I love bringing the ideas in my head to life. I’m starting to DJ because I love music and I want to mix music that I like and want to hear. I think that is what sets me apart from others, I actually have a love for what I do and will not stop until I get to where I’m going. I still have a lot of work to do and unfinished business to handle.
I am very proud of myself and how far I’ve come but I know I still have so much more to do. There are so many ideas and projects that I have in the vault and can’t wait to bring to life. There is so much more that I have to do and I feel like I’m no where near where I want to be sometimes. I have so much more to offer and God put me on this earth for a reason and a purpose so I have to see it through. I’m telling you watch what I do next!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
What I think helped build my reputation is being active, letting people get familiar with my face. And I’m actively still building my reputation, that’s something that doesn’t stop. I’m in rooms with winners, the rooms where the big dogs converse and network. These people see me constantly therefore they have no choice but to ask who I am and what I do. Surrounding myself with people that I look up to and soaking up as much information from them is how I’m building my reputation. Being around people who have already done what you are trying to do is the most important thing you can do to build yourself up.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
My mentor, shout out the Chief AI for taking me under his wing and showing me the ropes of running a legitimate business. He showed me every step of running a business and still helps me run mine. He made me come up with business plans and explained why it would or wouldn’t work. Funny thing is, he still makes me do these! He helped me get capital for my business and showed me how to allocate my funds. It’s extremely important to know what you are doing or have someone who knows the business before getting into it, you’ll be happy in the long run.
