We recently connected with A- Dub and have shared our conversation below.
A-, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I struggle with this a lot honestly, I have worked so many jobs while also making music and havent found anything that fills me up as much as music. However, it’s hard because I have to have a way of providing for myself, because music hasn’t dont that yet. Also, I graduated college with Psychology Degree, so it’s sometimes hard to know of I’m on the right path when there is no clear future at the moment. But, I’m doing what I love, so aslong as I keep enjoying it, I’m going to keep persuing it.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is A-Dub and I am a Music Artist! I have been making my own music since late 2019, but I have been involved in music my whole life!
As an independant artist I pretty much do everything on my own with the help of some friends. I just want people to know that I love what I’m doing and I hope they enjoy my music!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding part of making music is seeing people actually enjoy it. Whether it is one person or 1 million, it just feels nice when people find enjoyment in something I enjoy creating.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn that it doesn’t come fast. No matter how much work you put in, it could take a long time to make it in the music industry. Especially when you see others make it over night.
I use my motto “Slow Progress is Still Progress” to remind myself that even the little wins are worth the world.
