We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Daria Mazur . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Daria below.
Daria, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
Being an actor is a risk. Sometimes, there are months when I can’t book any acting jobs. Of course, it’s not a typical job. It’s unpredictable. But that’s the beauty of it. When I step into the audition room, I see tons and tons of actresses who are extremely talented, beautiful, and charismatic. There is only one job, but let’s say 50 actresses are trying to get it. It’s very competitive. But being an actor means that you have to leave your insecurities outside of the audition room. I always try to focus on the character and their story instead of comparing myself to others

Daria, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Daria Mazur. I am a professional actress and Stella Adler Academy of Acting alumna. I was born in Poland, but now I live in Hollywood. I have appeared in many TV shows, especially in Polish television. I constantly work on my craft and I believe that art changes lives. I am a big believer in making big choices as an actor.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission is to make people feel. When we go to the theatre or when we watch shows and movies, we want to feel something. We want to laugh, cry, think, reflect. Every time we watch a new show, a movie, or a play, we get inspired. And that’s my job as an actor – to make people reflect and to help them transform their lives every time they follow my character’s journey. One of my acting teachers said that making big choices as an actor is what truly moves the audience. He is right.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Seeing my parents proud. My parents have been my biggest supporters since day 1. They have never doubted me, they have never called my dreams silly, they have never wanted me to ”get a real job”. They watch every show I am in. Seeing them proud is the most beautiful feeling in the world. When my parents are invested in the story I am portraying on the screen and they are moved by it, that’s when I know that I do exactly what I am supposed to do!
