We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Jayce Ghoul a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Jayce, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
My friends and I were hanging out on Discord one evening, and we all decided to do voices over some comics: some were not exactly PG. In turn, we had lots of fun! By the end of the session, they all asked if I had done voiceover prior to the event, and the only time I remember was for a student project all the way back in 2012. I had not done things since. Those friends encouraged me to pursue it as it was something I had a knack for, I took their encouragement and ran with it. Here I am today!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I was a voiceover hobbyist while serving in the military. I got into the industry through my teacher, Morgan Berry. From there, I had gone on to do paid casting calls through Casting Call Club, Twitter, and various Discord servers. Ever since, I’ve been pursuing what I love!
When it comes to the services I provide, I provide all fields of voiceover genres as well as direction and casting services. Doing games, animation, commercial, narration, and more!
The biggest thing that sets me apart is the level of understanding and willingness to get as many details as possible to make sure I deliver to the vision of the creator while giving my own perspective and spin on the role I play.
I want you to know I want everyone I work with to have fun, that’s why we do what we do. We play pretend for a living, so why don’t we make the process as much fun as the end product, y’know?

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to be the voice that people seek to uplift them when they’re down or needing someone to motivate them. I had to do that for myself, so I want to do that for others. If I can leave people better off than when I met them. I’ve succeeded in my goal.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to be me in multiple different worlds; the characters we book are extensions of who we are as personalities, so to experience different worlds from the experience I’ve gained on this one, makes it all the more interesting!
