We recently connected with Abigail Rodriguez and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Abigail thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have always been the person who arrived early to the parties and ended up helping set up. I always had an eye for decorating and planning different aspects of the party itself. Fast forward to a couple years later when I was looking to do something that would allow me to have more time with my kids but also something for myself. I found myself thinking about how this was something I already enjoyed doing for loved ones and did ocassionally so why not make a business out of it. I left my teaching job and dove right into it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am originally from Houston, TX there I graduated from high school. After high school I moved to Keene, TX where I attended Southwestern Adventist University. After attending Southwestern Adventist University I got a job at a school in Fort Worth Tx where I worked for 3 years. I loved teaching and I loved seeing the growth my students made from day to day. With that being said, I felt like I was missing out on a lot of my own kids lives. So when my second son was born I came up with the idea of converting our small vintage camper into a photo booth. My husband Isaac helped remodel our camper and so that’s how it all started. Fast forward to now a couple months later my business has expanded to not only a photobooth but also balloon garlands, and white modern bounce houses.
My husband asked me just a couple days ago, “hey why do you do this?” and I replied by saying “I love making people happy”. I love seeing my clients faces light up when I make their visions come to life, I love hearing the kids laughing, and seeing them smile as they are jumping and sliding on our bounce houses. I love seeing people put their photo strips on their fridge as I’m leaving the party. All of these things bring me joy. It is an honor to be let in to my clients lives for such important moments.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Personally the best source of getting new clients for me has been from people who have referred me, and social media. Initially I started doing a lot of free jobs or practically free jobs for family and friends. All I would ask for in exchange was for my family and friends to just post on social media and tag my instagram page. Slowly but surely I have been able to get more and more clients this way. That helped me not only get clients but also helped me get content to show people what I had to offer. I had to start somewhere and I knew that I was going to have to start off doing some stuff for free or at a very discounted rate.

How’d you meet your business partner?
Its funny I don’t always give him enough credit but I really should because truthfully my husband is the backbone of my business. Isaac Bahena my business partner and simply just my life partner in general is the one who has helped me endlessly. Never complaining and always being willing to help. Hes spent hours in the garage learning to make backdrops for me off of youtube videos. Sometimes going to sleep till 2 or 3 in the morning just to finish a project for me. He is truthfully the best business partner I could ever ask for and I could not do it without him.
