Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Gina Colin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Gina, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I have spent the last 20 years of my life working in Human Services. More specifically, I’ve been helping moms transition through different seasons of motherhood. I went into business as a life coach for moms because I believe that motherhood is THE most challenging job in the world. I wanted to be a part of the movement that focuses on supporting and empowering moms so they can pass that support and empowerment on to their children, creating a legacy for future generations.
When the world was on lockdown during the pandemic, moms were faced with many new challenges. Good mental health and self-care were never more essential in order to maintain balance and positivity in the home. The need for moral support increased amongst our entire population, especially for moms.
Like so many others during the pandemic, my career changed drastically when the world was forced to limit physical contact with one another. I still wanted to reach and serve moms in need of support, be able to teach my workshops, and offer my services. However, all of us were now challenged to get creative with new ways to connect with each other. FaceTime and Zoom became the major lifelines of connection with the outside world. I realized then that if businesses could maintain client relationships through Zoom and similar platforms, I could take my business online and continue to offer support, programs, and resources to moms in need. It was then that ginacolin.com was born.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My coaching journey began out of my passion for helping people. I started out as a corporate relocation coordinator when I was nineteen years old and have been helping women, more specifically mothers, transition into new places and spaces ever since. I started my coaching business in 2020 to provide one on one virtual call coaching for moms looking for extra support and encouragement during times of transition and personal growth. For example, some of my clients are moms returning to school to advance in their careers. Some are looking to simplify their lives by achieving more work/life balance. Others would like to make room to tackle personal goals and passion projects. Whatever the goal is, my coaching business is dedicated to providing moms with a non-judgmental and confidential space for them to reset, refocus, and reclaim their personal power.
My approach is best known for being down to earth, relatable, and effective because of my passion, education, and personal experience. It’s what sets me apart from others who do what I do. I have personally experienced the most growth as a woman and as a mother when I was able to let my guard down and feel genuinely supported, and I consider my business a support system for moms.
Moms that are interested in working with me first schedule a “Mom Pep Talk”. This session provides an opportunity to utilize my assessment tools, set up a 60-minute Zoom call where we meet, chat, go over assessment results, and I provide a combination of suggestions and resources to help promote personal growth and transformation. For moms who are looking to discover more, I offer a FREE webinar and share secrets to “Lead with Your Best Self” in motherhood. And for moms that are ready to accomplish and learn how to balance personal goals and ambitions that have fallen off the list of priorities, I offer the 30 day “More from Motherhood Challenge” where I coach and encourage moms through a series of three motherhood and self-empowerment workshops. The workshops emphasize the importance of work/life balance, self-care, and personal fulfillment.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I believe my story is very relatable to a lot of people out there. I was the product of teen parents, born into statistics that predicted a life of poverty and struggle. I lacked guidance as a child and adolescent and was an at-risk youth prior to becoming a teen mom. My journey and coaching business came to be because of mentors who believed in me, who saw me as more than just a statistic, who sp.oke into me, and encouraged me to do better and be better for myself and my daughter. Now a mother of three, I realize the power of affirming, encouraging, and guiding others, a legacy that I hope inspires my children to do the same.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
The road to personal growth and transformation does not happen overnight. Refinement takes time. But I found that by respecting the process and working hard, I was able to gain more clarity. I achieved progress instead of perfection, which has helped me obtain the type of lasting results that I share through my coaching services. I believe that trust has helped me build my reputation within my market. By being transparent, vulnierable, and relatable, I’ve been able to earn the trust of the moms I work with. They understand that what I share with them in our sessions comes from a place of experience and knowledge. And because of that, they know I’m a solid connection and resource that they can confide in and trust.
