We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Javan Wallace a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Javan, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I first knew I wanted to pursue a creative/artist path professionally once I noticed the feedback I was receiving from those who have heard my music coming up.
From beats to freestyles to actual songs; doing what I love and seeing what my gift does to people gave me that spark to really apply more pressure with everything I create.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
For those who may not know who I am; my name is Drumma. I’m a producer, artist, and a musician. How I got into this industry; I kept going.
I seen my own potential and saw where it was gonna go and saw what others would see in me as well. I never let certain frustrations or hardships knock me off my main purpose, I remained locked in and focused on the end goal.
What I’m most proud of is how far my name and my work has gone, the creativity that I bring out of other artists and other listeners. Showing them that there’s a way to get your name heard, have fun with this music, and still give out hits; producer wise and artist wise. It doesn’t have to be complicated.
I’m also proud of how much I inspire others to really take music serious or even just want to create something.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is witnessing the excitement people have for what you put out, feeling, and connecting to the music overall. Seeing people remember your lyrics and telling you how inspired they are by your music; showing genuine love and support!

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
One thing I feel a non-creative might struggle to understand is that being a creative/artist comes with confidence, dedication, execution, and patience. Nothing of what’s been going on for me happened overnight. If I can keep going, so can you!
