We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Allegra Gast. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Allegra below.
Allegra, appreciate you joining us today. How do you think about vacations as a business owner? Do you take them and if so, how? If you don’t, why not?
I think implementing more white space in someone’s calendar is so beneficial for the long run of their business and success. I often see entrepreneurs, and even myself in my early years, spending every second of the day ON and IN the business that they eventually get burned out and therefore have to take several weeks off and they feel like they’re in a rut in their business.
When you can be intentional with your white space and take time off, put boundaries up, take a vacation and truly take off, this will help your mental health, physical health, emotional health, which will benefit your business.
Sometimes it can be hard to take time away. I encourage figuring out how much time you genuinely need to “refresh”. Personally, setting boundaries for the evenings, creating white space in my calendar for the weekend for fun time, then taking a few days completely off, helps me feel rejuvenated and more present.
If I sense I’m getting burnt out with my business, then I know it’s time I need a break and vacation, but by creating more boundaries, you’re helping to avoid this burn out feeling.
Allegra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Allegra is passionate about helping moms thrive and feel energized with their kids.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I started my social media page in 2017 but it wasn’t until 2019 when I truly revamped things and turned my social media into a business. By posting consistently, creating reels, doing instagram takeovers with other accounts, that’s when I truly grew.
If you’re just starting out, figure out exactly WHO you’re talking to – what are their pain points, what do they like? dislike? Talk to THAT particular person in your messaging. Then get consistent. Find trending audio, engage in other accounts and build relationships. Social media is about being social.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Sharing case studies and sharing testimonials. You can convince someone to buy your product but once there’s social proof! that’s when people actually convert.
