We recently connected with Marvee Santos and have shared our conversation below.
Marvee, appreciate you joining us today. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
A legacy based on hope and love. I think people will say that I was someone that really cared for others and I hope to be remembered for the overcoming the obstacles that I faced.

Marvee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Marvee and I like to take pictures. I got into this industry back in 2005 while I was sitting outside my high school when trees with pretty pink flowers were planted and in bloom. Sitting alone and watching those flowers bloom gave me comfort, turning lonesomeness into peaceful solitude. I decided to take out my phone and take a picture of those flowers so I can look back at them when I felt alone and be reminded that if not someone, but anything can keep me company. From then on, I wanted to take pictures that meant something to me or moments I didn’t want to forget.
I think what sets me apart from others is that I’m not in the industry for money. I like to take pictures simply because I like to. I do have a shot list of things, places and people I’d like to take photos of and if there’s anything within my work that calls out to anyone else, I’m always game to work with/for others.
If anyone were to go to my Instagram, it’s noticeable that I don’t have a niche and that’s not exactly profitable but profit doesn’t drive me. My “brand” is anything/anyone I’d like to always remember and share these memories with the world.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
The goal or mission is to see/experience the world through a lens and share the moments I capture. Life can be hard but I hope I can capture something that can be enjoyed enough to where life can be a little less hard.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
I think the most rewarding aspect about being an artist or creative is that I make my own rules that work best for me and my goals.
