We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aimee Granton . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aimee below.
Aimee , appreciate you joining us today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I first knew I wanted to pursue a career as a creative when I was young. I wasn’t sure exactly what direction I would end up going with it. When I was little, I used to cut my Barbies and dolls hair, which my mom was not very happy about. From a young age I loved art and creating. I also made jewelry from the time I was about 12, which I still do and sell it in the Salon. When I was in high school was when the thought of going to cosmetology school really ignited in me. I wanted to pursue a career where I could show my creative talents for art and combine that with my love for people and making them feel good. Watching movies and shows I became so Intrigued with hair styling , especially when it came to Gl. All through high school all I could think about was starting cosmetology school. Which I did right after I graduated..

Aimee , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started my hairstyling journey right after high school. I really wanted to have a Career where I can help people. I wanted to share my creativity and passion for fashion and hair. Every day behind the chair I have the chance to change someone’s day for the better. The connections I make in my Chair fill my heart so completely, and I am so thankful that my clients have become like family to me. It’s not only a hair appointment when they are here with me. I am here to listen and build trust with them. What is said in the chair, stays in the chair.

Have you ever had to pivot?
A time into life when I had to pivot in my career would be when Covid happend. Having to close our business temporarily. I am So thankful we were able to reopen and we are thriving, thanks to our loyal
Clients and families.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
I think society can best help creatives to thrive by doing things like this and featuring local small business owners. It gives us a chance to put our face and name out there and share our stories. We can all Support each other and help
Each other grow
