We recently connected with Kristen Lundberg and have shared our conversation below.
Kristen, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
When I moved to LA, my first job was ice sculpting in South Central LA. After 3 years of working with chainsaws and other power tools, a block of ice fell on my fingers and broke them. As a violin playing stand up comedian, this froze my career for a while. This happened at a time that I was feeling very overworked and I learned to slow down. I also learned that lawyers are expensive.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a comedic actress and stand up violiness from Dayton Ohio (spawn of Dayton). When I was 12, I made films with my mini DV recorder that would make Harmony Korine clutch his pearls. From there I climbed to the bottom as intern for production assistant at Lightborne Productions in Cincinnati Ohio.
I was raised with lots of good ol’ fashioned violence in the home, which was perfect for stand up. My parents put Johnny Depp and Amber Heard to shame. I continually made jokes about it and added the violin because it made the trauma really pop.
I moved to LA after infiltrating the Chicago comedy improv and stand up community for several years. Now I book commercials and scavenge for indy film roles during a strike. I only do stand up if there’s free shrimp or an $1000 bottle of champagne waiting for me. Or if Kevin Hart is there and takes me on a date after.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The rewarding part of being an artist is discovering the new and interesting ways people want to pay you other than with money!
JK. The most rewarding part is the money.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I would like to tell the NFT community to stop hacking peoples instagram accounts.
