We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Vanessa Young a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Vanessa, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

When I first decided to start my business I knew I needed to have a mission statement in place. It was easy for me to come up with one, I decided on “Dropping love in this world daily”. When this came up for me I didn’t really think twice as to why or where that statement was coming from, it just felt right. Now, being in business for a few years there have been some adjustments I’ve made and lots of new ideas coming up for me. When I learned that my mind, body and soul needed to be aligned within this business of mine, I started looking at all things within my business in another way. A mindful way. I took a step back and was able to realize that my mission statement came from my dream when I was a little girl. That dream was to send my love out to the world. I remember thinking this throughout my life but always following up that thought with doubt. With fear. When I made the choice to switch my business up a bit & align it with more intentional reasons to connect with others. Oh my goodness. It’s like, not only was I learning about how to create and run a profitable business but how can I also connect to people. Which is what I really love and enjoy doing. Learning this balance allowed me to really align with my individual strengths and purpose. Which are communication, connecting and supporting those around me in a mindful honest way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I am a Certified Hypnosis Therapist, Certified Reiki Practitioner and a Certified Self-Love Master & Coach.

Born and raised in Reno NV. I have traveled around the U.S learning how to become a better communicator, listener, business woman, teacher and most importantly, being someone who understands the importance of leading by example.
Since as far back as I can remember, I’ve always genuinely cared whole heartedly for people. I have always been one to encourage, inspire and hold sacred space for friends, family and even colleagues.
I’ve always seen people in such light and love, even when others may have felt to be at their worst. Through my own realizations and self work, I’ve come to understand and believe that.. kindness and self awareness are necessary to live a pure and joyful life.

I hand make intention candles and I also support individuals in falling unconditionally in love with themselves. I do this by facilitating mindful practices & teachings.

Being a survivor of some of life’s unfortunate events that once hindered my heart, I have chosen to live by a few simple, yet effective statements.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

When I began my business I was making candles. I later started creating intention candles. This change caused me to want to be more mindful within my business and also caused me to begin asking myself, how can I show up more mindfully in my business and more importantly in my life. This change created a ripple effect and I began selling hidden knowledge and skills that would allow me to connect to myself and others on a deeper level. This was one of the greatest pivots I have gotten to make within my business.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

What has helped me build my reputation within my business is that it’s truly my passion. I speak about my offerings with love in my heart. I allow myself to continuously seek knowledge. I believe how we show up in life for ourselves is how we show up in almost everything! I intentionally and easily show up in life with love in my heart and an openness to learn and grow. This has definitely helped me grow my business and leave impacts on others hearts.
