Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cindy and Mikey Campobasso. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Cindy and Mikey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
When we began our company in Massachusetts, it was a company to keep our General Contracting in-house with our development projects. We named our company Boston Building Contractors.
Upon moving to Nashville, TN, we expanded what our company offered. Everything from RE sales and purchasing with our brokerage side, custom millwork and carpentry, design-build and design in general. We were no longer just GCs.
We combined our Boston roots and paid homage to our new community, that is how BosTN Builders was created! Pronounced Boston, like the city–just spelled with the TN for Tennessee!

Cindy and Mikey, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am the principal owner of BosTN Builders and also a licensed commercial and residential affiliate broker with Community Realty Services, Inc. I have over 15 years of real estate and business management experience. I have helped clients win properties in multiple offer situations. I have helped many businesses secure the location of their dreams, BosTN Builders has then gone on to help these clients design and build out their spaces.
BosTN Builders holds the highest licensing credentials for contracting work in Tennessee and Massachusetts. In the state of TN, our license allows us to build projects of unlimited monetary value within all three main industries; residential, commercial and industrial. We work with a variety of clients to procure floor plans, feasibility studies, cost analysis, 3D modeling, and other pre-development needs. The work performed in the initial design phases will reduce project omissions, increase efficiency and limit change orders. Our licensing allows us to aid in these phases of building development; property acquisitions and sales, design & construction and asset management.
We take a modern approach to craftsmanship which adapts to technology and maintains a set of specific carpentry skills creating beautiful and meticulous finishes. We enjoy finding creative solutions with homeowners who need assistance in fixing common or complex problems. Something that sets us apart, even though we’ve designed and built multi-family commercial and residential buildings and built submarine stations — no project is too small. We will be humbled to help any client tackle all of their design/build, GC, carpentry or real estate needs!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
It is so simple, and it is the Golden Rule we live by: treat everyone how you want to be treated. Kindness is never wasted. Our clientele is grown by word of mouth. When our clients feel seen, respected and we help them solve a problem or need, they graciously share with their friends and family about us.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2020, we decided to leave a secure situation, managing a family real estate investment portfolio to venture to a new state where we knew one person–the woman who fostered our adopted, shelter dog!
We moved on our intuition and faith, in search for a new way of life and a chance to prove ourselves. We left our family, friends, business, secure income, packed up everything we owned to start over in Nashville. We wanted to slow things down and enjoy the better weather. Leave it to us to start a business as slowing things down!
We put one foot in front of the other and just kept making decisions to propel us in the right direction to get up and running here successfully. We networked, went out to meet as many locals as possible. We got our licenses and took every single call and job opportunity.
It was at times overwhelming to completely start over from scratch but we believe it is so important for growth to live outside your comfort zone. We took calculated risks and there have been many trying moments but we trust ourselves and our abilities to keep chipping away to figure it out.
