We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Jeff Duda. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Jeff below.
Jeff, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our mission statement at Indie Roadmap is “We help artists chase their dreams by providing them with the largest venue database in the world. Along with info on thousands of fairs, festivals, radio stations and media opportunities. Pairing that with the guidance from Artist Managers, we are the first virtual management company. Changing the music industry forever!”
That being said, we really do care about artists. We noticed a gap in between artists who could benefit from management and artists who have management. We also noticed hundreds of “buy our guides and you will succeed in the music industry” and knew that if we genuinely wanted to help people chase their dreams, then we had to do somthing.
We wanted to give Artists everything they need to further their career right in their pocket. And at a price that anyone can afford. With services ranging from a free EPK, to helping write a booking email. We know shows, shows and more shows is how artists thrive. Also providing them with playlist distribution, 1on1 managment, the world’s largest database of Venues, Fairs and Festivals and so many other tools such as radio distribution, help releasing new singles and marketing. We are in this with every artist for the long haul.
Jeff, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Getting into the buisness was a “pressured” process. I had someone I greatly look up to strongly convince me into the Music Industry after my football career and am forever grateful. They say The Lord works in mysterious was, well this is one of them. I have had family members in the same industry change the path of country music forever with the “Outlaw Country” movement. So I figured I would take it one step further and change all of the music industry for the better for all artists no matter the genre.
From #1s to building artists up and helping them make a living full time off of music, we believe that hard work not only does prevail but will prevail. There are so many paths out there for artists to take nowadays, social media, streaming, terrestrial radio, internet media, YouTube ect. That if you want to be seen, it’s possible. One thing I tell artists to focus on is just how we at Indie Roadmap focus on every artist big or small, they need to focus on EVERY SINGLE FAN. If you can obtain 1,000 fans who will spend $100 a year on you. Well you have just made $100,000 grand a year. It puts everything into perspective and really let’s artists focus on why their doing this. Whether you are in it for the money, fame or to be heard. All of those things start and end with the fans.
An organization that believes that if we put our Faith first and follow that up with vast amounts of hard work, any artist can succeed. It doesn’t matter what success may look like for you. If that’s playing stadiums or just making a living doing what you love. We are here to help. And we are darn good at it.
Any advice for managing a team?
A positive work environment. It’s that simple. Train your employees well. Instill your knowledge into them, so that you do not stress over every project they are given and know that you have to be good enough that if they do mess up, you can come in grab that metaphorical mop and do what you do best. And that’s keep the buisness moving forward. Bring your employees into daily meetings, and not only cover work, but genuinely care about them. If they like you they will take more pride in their work. As well as always leave room for growth within the company. If they are doing great, give them a promotion or a chance to take on another opportunity. Let your team be a reflection of you, and make it one you would like the world to see.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Our clientele is artists, and if they are using indie-roadmap.com or the app right. They keep in touch with us. Asking questions at least three days a week. Anything that pops in their head. There is always questions in the music industry, always. So as long as they are coming to us with their questions so we can help them succeed, keeping in touch is as easy as helping. And helping is what we are here to do.
