We were lucky to catch up with LV Jay recently and have shared our conversation below.
LV, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I knew I wanted to pursed music after I got in a car accident in 2018. I was thinking what regrets in life would I have and music was one of them. After that experience I knew I wanted to go after my dreams and make music. Thats when I made my first song ever “Riding” feature my friend also an artist apart our label “JustBecause” Yung JD.
LV, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a music artist from Miami Florida Liberty City area. I own a record label named “JustBecause” and I’m also a youtuber. I got into the music/entertainment industry in 2018. I wanted to do something that I could create and be proud of and music was something I wanted to do. You could express yourself and connect with other people at the same times. I feel the way I connect people is through my music because my music is personally and relatable. I’m proud of my last mixtape “Category Jay” because it displays my difference flows and styles. I really like my overall catalog of music and I like to see it grow and grow it keep me motivated to make more.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The mission that is driving my creative journey is my family. Everything I do in my career or life is making sure my family is good. Thats who I do it for my family.
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn is taking L’s. Because as an independent artist & record label you would take L’s. All people aren’t in your best interest. & know when someone trying to take advantage of you. The backstory is I had people I tried to work with, and it just ended on some bad business I learned from it.
