We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Yesenia Santiago a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Yesenia , thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
When I was 7 years old. I remember being in my mother’s room and I decided to draw an Eye. At that moment, I realized when I saw my finished work that I wanted to be an artist.
Yesenia , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
At a very young age. I decided I wanted to start drawing And keep doing it from that moment on. I draw digitally, Traditional, Paint, and Watercolor. I am a surrealism artist and what sets me apart from others is I draw what come to my mind.
What I am most proud of so far is how I have grown in my artistry and that 1 of my drawings is at Miami children’s hospital.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
One of my goals to reach is to have my art in a gallery.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being artist is getting my work recognized and complimented on.
