RETI, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.

Not spending enough quality time with my kids. Making sacrifices and taking the risks so i can be able to show them that there’s more to this life than what we are told and to reach their maximum potential. It’s hard for me because i always wanted them around but it didn’t happen like that! But the times i’m with them i always tell them that they are great & i love them! That theirs a purpose for their lives and i hope they find out what that is! I hope they see me as a inspiration and know that it’s ok to take risks and challenge themselves!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Im a hip hop artist based out of Atlanta! But just relocated to the west coast! I feel like the hip hop culture practically raised me! I remember when i would perform for my aunts & uncles at family events! It was always the humpty dance by digital underground! I was never shy when it came to performing but i was always hesitant about other things so then i knew i was most comfortable with hip hop! I go by RETI which was given to me by another artist while we were recording. He was like yo you ready! We should call you ready! I liked it and ran with it! I consider myself a conscious rapper since i’m more of a lyricist than just rapping basic rhymes! I like being more underground than mainstream because it gives me the option to stay grounded in my beliefs and i don’t have to sell my soul to be a one hit wonder! I like controlling my creativity and love challenging myself to be the best me! I think i’m different because i think with my spirit not mind or let the material world control my point of views. Not too many people can say same most people probably to understand and maybe it’s not for them too but if you want to understand look at me & my life ask questions try to inform yourself. There’s more people like me but we can’t express the real or truth because people scared of it. So we only share with the ones we see that are on the same wave as us!

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

Being able to express yourself through your art! Telling the world how you feel!

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My kids! & bring a master of my craft! Being able to share my story with people! Telling them the good news & how to connect with something bigger than themselves! Showing them that there’s something bigger out here!
