Outsiders often think businesses or industries have much larger profit margins than they actually do – the reason is that outsiders are often unaware of the biggest challenges to profitability in various industries – what’s the biggest challenge to profitability in your industry?
One of the biggest challenges to profitability as a realtor can be the unpredictability of the real estate market. Fluctuations in property values and demand can impact the number of transactions and commissions earned. Additionally, the competitive nature of the industry can make it challenging to consistently secure clients and close deals, especially in saturated markets.

My name is Sheila, I’m a mom, wife and REALTOR. My biggest motivation is my family and helping others achieve their dream of owning a little slice of heaven here in Florida.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I collaborated with a client who works as a travel nurse, and due to COVID restrictions, she had limited attendance at showings. Despite the challenges, I remained committed. I would often travel long distances, sometimes over 2 hours, to visit homes on her behalf and use FaceTime to virtually tour them with her.
During this period of intense competition with offers exceeding asking prices, I persevered. Over the span of 4 months, we navigated through numerous showings, faced unsuccessful offers, and invested countless hours. Eventually, our determination paid off. We located the ideal home that matched her criteria perfectly. Remarkably, we even managed to secure equity in the property. Her dream home exceeded expectations, providing her with everything she desired and more.
