Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Louis Buralda. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Louis , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
I’ve always created music since the age of 8 and I was basically drawing since I’ came out the womb. Music has always been a passion of mind. Art was something I didn’t care for too much because I thought it was an ability everyone was capable of. Art and I had a sort of on and off relationship.
It all began March 13, 2020 I was working a full 9-5 and was laid off due to Covid. I was hurt and immediately started thinking of all the societal pressures such as bills, car, and all expenses that required steady income. It was at this very moment I knew I never wanted to feel this expendable again.
I immediately started working on my art. I didn’t have any particular goal in mind, I just wanted to get lost in something that brings me joy. I started flooding my social accounts with new projects I had been working on and several post had went viral. These videos I posted received over 11 million views. That’s when I was flooded with opportunity from people all over the globe.
Louis , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Before the increased clientele, I had a small business. Thanks to social media giving me a platform to share my art my videos and posts circulated quickly. My business is now running quite smoothly. Also this helped my music streams boost tremendously because each video had my songs playing. So with every video my music is monetized, meaning I will receive income off views and plays.
It took a while to get the structure right but It got there. My followers message me all the time telling me how inspiring I am and also that they have purchased not only my art but my music. I am truly grateful for everyone who has shown support.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
That it’s never too late. If you give yourself a time limit on everything your basically saying it can’t be done because it wasn’t completed when it best suited you.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect is that you can never be bored. I as an artist find myself quite entertaining. Just having the ability to turn nothing into something. The bonus is having others appreciate that something.
