We were lucky to catch up with Amanda Deming recently and have shared our conversation below.

Amanda , appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

6 months after I graduated from National Holistic Institute, as a Certified Holistic Practitioner/Massage Therapist,, I wanted to add to my repertoire of healing modalities. I decided on Yoga West to get my Kundalini Yoga Teacher training, During a 6 hr deep meditation is when the concept for Inside Out Mobile Spa came to life. I got a download and saw my Logo and felt the intention supporting my new business. I got so excited and knew this was my destiny, I immediately wrote down my ideas and sketched out my logo. After that, I hit the ground running, devoting all my time and energy into learning new ways to offer healing. I wanted to do more than just massage clients, I wanted to help heal people from the Inside Out, through Touch, Breathwork, Yoga, Energy Work, Sound Therapy, Nutrition and more!
After graduating from Kundalini Yoga, Teacher Training, I got certified as a Doula, a Reiki Master, a Sound Therapist and a Raw Food Chef. I’m still leaning new modalities and expanding my offerings.
Now I’m able to help bring my clients back to balance and facilitate healing in a very customized and unique way as a Body Work Specialist.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I came to California from Pennsylvania in 2004. I moved in with a dear friend of mine who constantly had neck and jaw pain. She was so moved by the way I was able to help relieve her pain, with my hands. She said I was gifted and suggested I go to Massage school. So I did! I found the best school in Los Angeles, and spent over a year of my time learning and mastering the craft. However, with bodywork, there is much more than just education, It’s also about using your intuition, and really connecting with the body, listening to the muscles.
I devoted many hours to learning every single muscle, ligament and tendon and how they work, the best way to release their tension and create space to balance the body and relieve pain.
I continued that level of dedication through every one of my certifications that followed.

Inside Out Mobile Spa currently offers:
Several different types of customized massages such as: Therapeutic massage to relive chronic pain, Prenatal massage to help expecting mothers relieve the aches and pains that come with pregnancy and post pregnancy, Sports Massage for Athletes. Geriatric massage to offer a calming touch for the elderly, End of life massage for those who may need comfort and peace through touch or energy work. Swedish with Scalp massage to promote relaxation. Myofascial therapy for those with chronic conditions like Fibromyalgia ….just to name a few.

During the pandemic, business tripled because we were able to do massages in the home or backyard while still following all safety precautions. I needed to expand my team and hire more body workers. I am very specific and particular about who I hire. The interview process is very detailed and new hires must have extensive knowledge about the body.
I currently have a team of 7 amazing women who provide specialized modalities.
I’m not a huge corporation with a bunch of therapists on hand, I believe in Quality over Quantity.
Our passion, knowledge, convenience, professionalism, customer service and therapeutic approach sets us apart from any other spa. We guarantee all of our clients will be happy and well taken care of.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The best source of new clients, for Inside Out Mobile Spa is word of mouth, social media, and Yelp! We currently have over 117 5 star Yelp reviews that I am very proud of!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I am very communicative and always provide elite customer service.

I build my reputation by providing elite customized services. Also, I speak to every single client that contacts me to guarantee they get exactly what they need out of their service. I also follow up to check in on clients after their service to ensure 100% satisfaction. I sometimes offer complimentary services for new clients or when current clients rebook..
