What even is a “regular” job? Semantics aside, the heart of our question is about those moments when the stress of entrepreneurship is mounting – do you ever sit back and wonder what if you had just been working for someone else, what life would have been like without all the stress?

My independent personality type is definitely better-suited as a business owner, vs. being an employee! Every time I’ve had a quote/un-quote “regular job,” I remember distinctly how I felt at the end of the day: drained, & a bit like a robot (particularly if I’d been staring at a computer screen all day). As the owner of a travel blog, I’m still looking at a computer screen a lot ~ but I can break up my days with gardening, hiking, mountain biking, walking the dog, etc. Read more>>

The list of topics was all great, however this particular question stood out most to me simply because the journey through entrepreneurship is like a roller coaster and you will face some challenges that you didn’t see coming, but we have to keep going until we get there. We all have goals that we want to achieve and when the hard days come you will question yourself, your business, your life, but keep going until you get there. Read more>>

When I was growing up, both of my parents and many other relatives had small businesses. Becoming a business owner is the best decision I ever made. I began my journey into the workforce toiling away in other industries and working for managers that ultimately held my success in their hands. My ascension up the corporate ladder was always impacted by subjectivity, corporate plans, and other factors that I had limited control over. This was hard for me to deal with because I realized that my performance alone was not enough. Read more>>

I honestly never wanted to have my own private practice. When I became licensed and I was working for another private practice, everything seemed ideal. I got up in the morning, drove to the office, saw my clients, left the office and went home. Occasionally, I would have to work on some things at home. And now here I am all because I needed to start a business for tax purposes. Read more>>

am most definitely happier as a business owner. It gives you the freedom to be creative and run your business exactly how you envision it. It is not always an easy road though. It can come with a lot of struggle and difficulty. Nothing is set in stone when you run your own business. Read more>>
