We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bianca Modo. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bianca below.
Bianca , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Any thoughts about whether to ask friends and family to support your business. What’s okay in your view?
Well, I’ve always believed that the foundation of any relationship, be it personal or professional, is built on trust and mutual respect. When it comes to friends and family, that foundation is even more sacred. Asking them to support my business is a delicate matter. I feel that it’s appropriate to let them know about my ventures, share my passion, and see if it aligns with something they genuinely need or are interested in. If there’s an organic fit, then it’s a win-win for both parties.
However, in my view, what’s not appropriate is putting undue pressure or leveraging emotional connections to compel support. I never want to make anyone feel obligated or cornered into helping out, especially when financial matters are involved. I draw the line at keeping business discussions transparent, voluntary, and free from emotional manipulation.
Interestingly, a while ago, I had a friend who started a business venture and approached me for investment. Their pitch was built more around our shared memories and less about the business specifics. It made me uncomfortable because I felt torn between the personal connection and my genuine concerns about the venture’s feasibility. It was an enlightening experience that reinforced my belief in keeping business propositions with friends and family clear, honest, and pressure-free.
In conclusion, while it’s great to have the support of loved ones, it should never come at the expense of the integrity of the relationship.
Bianca , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Modo Global, LLC is a multifaceted enterprise dedicated to empowering high-performance leaders with heart-driven communication strategies. By blending creativity, leadership, and authenticity, we aim to inspire leaders to be transformational and innovative through fashion, art, experiences, and ethical business practices.
Under the Modo Global umbrella, I oversee several endeavors:
Brand Build™ Consulting: We specialize in holistic brand development, catering, especially to faith-based expert coaches and small business consultants. From creating memorable logos and crafting engaging websites to SEO strategies and launch plans, we aim for stress-free branding.
Bianca Modo Collection: A fashion line that embodies our ethos of creativity and leadership.
Bianca Modo Foundation: This foundation champions the rights of young girls and women, focusing on those at risk of or who have experienced sexual violence and human trafficking. Through our programs, we seek to empower them to establish their businesses or pave the path to higher-paying careers.
My entrepreneurial journey began with a keen interest in fashion and an educational background in business and marketing. Post-college, I honed my skills in Paris, earning dual master’s degrees. Over time, I’ve honed my talents as a creative project manager and a self-taught photographer. My true calling became clear when I sought guidance from my faith and mentors who understood my purpose.
A testament to my drive is my book, “Unscarred: Prayers for Healing.” Though I procrastinated for years, when I committed, the book was completed in under two weeks and published in three months, achieving bestseller status on Amazon and drawing media attention.
My experiences in corporate environments and as an entrepreneur have given me a broad perspective on the nuances of leadership and brand management. While I loved working with clients in corporate, I often felt like a square peg in a round hole. The environment was restrictive, and I yearned for the freedom to utilize my talents and potential fully. That experience reinforced the importance of aligning one’s career with passion and purpose.
Every setback and success I’ve encountered has shaped my business approach. There’s immense power in self-awareness and recognizing one’s unique strengths and weaknesses. For instance, I’ve learned that it’s okay not to have all the answers. What’s vital is the determination to seek solutions and the humility to learn from others.
The journey has been demanding, but resilience, faith, and a keen instinct have been my compass. My current mission is to empower leaders to understand their brand essence, elevate their authority in their respective fields, and truly step into leadership roles.
Furthermore, I cannot stress enough the importance of mentorship. Each time I felt lost or overwhelmed, seeking guidance from seasoned experts provided direction. It’s not just about their knowledge or advice; it’s also about the validation, encouragement, and broader perspective they offer.
To anyone reading this: Embrace your journey. Entrepreneurship is not a straight path; it’s filled with twists, turns, and unexpected challenges. Yet, with faith, resilience, and a clear sense of purpose, it’s possible to navigate these challenges and emerge stronger. Your brand isn’t just about a product or a service; it reflects your journey, values, and the impact you want to make in the world.
Lastly, to all the transformational leaders, remember that leadership isn’t just about leading others. It’s about continuous self-improvement, understanding your “why,” and empowering those around you to shine. At Modo Global, LLC, we’re here to support you in that mission, ensuring that your brand is seen, truly resonates, and makes a difference.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Absolutely! Building an audience on social media has been a journey filled with learning, experimentation, and genuine connections. Here’s my story:
When I first started, I focused on sharing my passion for fashion, creative direction, and business insights from my educational background. My time in Paris, where I pursued two Master’s degrees, provided a rich tapestry of experiences I enthusiastically shared with my followers. From behind-the-scenes glimpses of photoshoots to personal reflections on leadership and brand strategy, I aimed to be as authentic and relatable as possible.
Being a self-taught photographer played a significant role. I realized the importance of visual storytelling on platforms like Instagram, where quality images can instantly capture attention and convey a message. By combining striking photography with heartfelt narratives, I created content that resonated with my audience visually and emotionally.
Engaging with my audience has always been a top priority. I made it a point to respond to comments, join relevant conversations, and genuinely get to know the individuals behind the screens. This two-way communication helped forge genuine connections and fostered a sense of community.
Eventually, I began creating content that was specific to my ideal client. This includes educational content that helps my ideal client solve the most pressing issues in their businesses. Once I stopped worrying about appealing to everyone and focused my energy on taking my clients through their customized buyer’s journey, I reached the people who mattered most to my bottom line.
For those just starting:
Be Authentic: Social media users value genuine content. Share your journey, the highs and the lows, and let your true self shine.
Quality Over Quantity: Instead of focusing on frequent posts, prioritize creating high-quality, impactful content that truly resonates with your target audience.
Engage Actively: Building an audience isn’t just about broadcasting; it’s about listening, engaging, and cultivating relationships.
Consistency is Key: Regular posting and interaction can help keep your audience engaged and attract new followers.
Stay Updated: Social media platforms are constantly evolving. Stay updated with the latest trends and features, and adapt your strategies accordingly.
Seek Mentorship: Just as in business, finding someone who has successfully built a social media presence can offer invaluable insights and guidance.
Building a social media presence is a marathon, not a sprint. Stay patient, remain true to your brand, and cherish every connection you make along the way.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Staying connected and cultivating loyalty with clients is at the heart of everything we do at Modo Global, LLC. Here’s how I approach it:
Personalized Communication: Every client is unique, and I believe in acknowledging their individuality. Whether it’s a personalized email, a handwritten note, or a tailored proposal, I ensure that every communication underscores their importance to us.
Consistent Value: At Brand Build™ Consulting, we don’t just offer services; we continually provide value. We ensure our clients always have access to the latest brand-building strategies through webinars, workshops, and free resources.
Engage on Social Media: Having an active presence lets me showcase what we’re doing and engage with clients in real time. Celebrating their successes, sharing their content, or even just a quick comment can foster a sense of community and connection.
Feedback Loops: I’ve always believed that growth is a two-way street. Regular check-ins and feedback sessions with our clients help us understand their evolving needs and ensure we’re aligning with their goals.
Exclusive Offers: Loyalty should be rewarded. For our longstanding clients, we occasionally offer exclusive promotions, early access to new services, or special discounts as a token of our appreciation.
Host Events: Whether it’s a networking event, a masterclass, or an informal get-together, hosting events has been a fantastic way for us to stay connected. It allows our clients to connect with us and each other, fostering a broader community of like-minded individuals.
Transparency: In all our dealings, I prioritize transparency. Whether it’s about our process, pricing, or potential challenges, I believe in being upfront. This builds trust, which is the cornerstone of any lasting relationship.
Continuous Learning: I take the insights and lessons from my own entrepreneurial journey and share them. Whether it’s a success story or a challenge I faced, by sharing these narratives, I hope to inspire and provide valuable insights to my clients.
For anyone looking to foster brand loyalty, remember that it’s not just about transactions; it’s about building genuine, lasting relationships. The foundation of loyalty is trust, and trust is built on consistent value, transparency, and genuine care.
