We were lucky to catch up with Henna Havila recently and have shared our conversation below.
Henna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.
My parents are amazing, i really do appreciate having parents like mine and i look up to them in many areas. My parents separated when i was only 8 years old and back in the 90’s in Finland it wasn’t as common as it is in these days to come from ”a broken family”. I had good and safe childhood and even though my parents are like a night and day i feel like the way they both have affected on my and my siblings growth has been very well balanced and that’s why we have all became a decent human beings. My mom is a very good mother, she is warm and loving and she has offered all her children a home where was safe and good to grow up. She has tought me and my siblings to be responsible and to know difference between right and wrong. My dad instead has always been working hard so i think the fact that if i go for something i am very determinded and i wanna do it well comes from him and my dad is also really smart so i listen to him and i respect his opinions.
Henna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I started doing my social media in the beginning of 2020 when i was noticed by Global Influencer Agency and i was able to join influencer community. I have been blogging about eating disorder, being a single mom and shared beauty and fashion related posts so basically i have been sharing everything that was going on in my life. Nowadays i don’t share that much about my personal life anymore and my posts are not so superficial, i like to speak about things that i find important and spare awareness of inmates rights and botched surgeries and i also care about environment and i for example am vegetarian and prefer cruelty free products so i do hope that the things i post and what i write will affect on people even in a small way but the truth is that social media is like a getaway for so many people that they go there so they can escape to this illusion of luxury lifestyle and see happy things, because life can be hard so majority of the people don’t want to see and read about heavy things but i like to give a voice to things that so easily gets forgotten and don’t get the attention that it would deserve and i do it with all my heart and i’m always staying 100% real about everything so i hope it is able to touch some people. I have got so much feedback from people who have been following me since i started doing this and it makes me happy and i can be proud of myself when i hear from them that how much i have grown as a person during these years, it means a lot to me.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Likes and followers really don’t mean anything in these days because so many people are buying followers and likes and even comments so it is so easy to fake it all. I have seen people going from under 1000 followers to 10k in a day and then they think they are influencers. To me the most important is to stay genuine, i’m doing my own thing with my own personality and everyone who wants to follow me are welcome but i’m not buying or fishing any followers. I have been growing slowly and i don’t do my thing full time and i even know i could do better but i don’t want to force things. I think the biggest reason of my small success has been that i’m being real and i’m not pretending to be anything that i’m not so perhaps i’m relatable? My advice would be that just be you, focus on your own thing and your own goals and do not compare yourself to other people, especially in social media where things in real life often are not the way they seems to appear on social media.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
So what i do is collaborations with different brands and i have had few that have been long-term collaborations, i guess because these brands has been pleased of what i do. I always do everything on time and i do my best so my content would look good and i communicate with people thru my posts so i would see them as a clients because i am marketing some products or services and those who sees my posts are possible clients for this brand so i’m there to help this brand and clients to meet each others. I also after my collaborations still talk about those products and i may share more about those brands afterwards and sometimes i even post more content that they were even asking.
