Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Santiago Heidelberg . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Santiago , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
As a kid I couldn’t wait until the weekend to watch music videos all day & listen to my mom & dad CD collection, I always admired artist like Toni Braxton, Maxwell, Michael Jackson & Beyoncé, just seeing them perform on stage, made me realize this is something I want to do in the future

Santiago , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It Was Summer of 2003 I was in class sitting in the back I over hear this guy name Steven Ram saying he’s working on this beat, I tapped him & said “hey you make music”? he said yes! Why? I told him “oh that’s coo”l! “I sing” he asked was I really good?, I said oh yes! You won’t be disappointed, After that encounter, he invited over to his house is where I met Robert Alvarez, Robert literally made me a beat in 30mins & After that it was a wrap, I started recording music in the industry around 2004 , when one of my cousins Antoine Smith introduced me to a recording engineer In Orange County, California, after recording my first demo, I started shopping it around different labels trying to get signed but it was difficult at the time because I didn’t have any representation of having a lawyer or manager, but it didn’t stop me, I begin networking with different artist and started doing hooks for different rappers in Los Angeles & Orange County, CA, being in the creative world is not a easy road, you have to be discipline in all aspect of your life, you also have to have work ethic or you won’t make it far, what set me apart from other artist in general is I don’t look at anyone as competition, I do my own thing & try to create my own lane, I’m most proud of creating quality music & continuing to produce music & not give up, I want my supporters to know that I will always give them quality R&B music & don’t try to fit in, my focus with my music, I want to break barriers & bring different cultures together

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I really want to get my voice heard & build a fan base, and also I’m very passionate when it comes to creating music, I just love doing it, I don’t ever see myself stop creating, & what drives me to keep going is that people close to you try to doubt your dreams & I want to show my nephews, future nieces & littles cousins that if I can do it, they can do it to, I want to be a positive example for the generation behind me

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
When random people contact you via social media saying they love your music or after a performance, spectators approach you and tell you how great of a show that was, it makes you feel seen & appreciated, it drives you to keep going & not give up on your dreams
