We were lucky to catch up with Alexandra Nicolaidis recently and have shared our conversation below.

Alexandra, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

I couldn’t come up with a name for the longest time! I knew I wanted it to be edgy and different, so when my sister’s friend told me what her last name was I thought, “that’s it!” I feel like it sounds creative but also portrays female empowerment and that’s exactly what I love about what I do.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I always knew I wanted to do something creative but couldn’t figure it out for a while so I got a bit of a late start. I have been a hair artist and color specialist for over 5 years now and I love that I am able to use my creative mind to make others feel great!

I am a super casual and laid back individual, and I thrive in a fun, comfortable environment. I am very meticulous with my work and make sure to go through the process correctly because for me, it’s all about quality over quantity. Big color transformations are my favorite thing to do and can be tremendously rewarding at the end!

How did you build your audience on social media?

The majority of my clientele have found me through social media, mainly instagram and facebook. Social media has changed a ton within the last few years but I believe, first and foremost, it is extremely important to have a great instagram portfolio. My client’s have always given me feedback about the cleanliness of my profile and how I showcase my work. It’s helpful to always know who your audience is!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

I would say the best sources for me personally have been social media and referrals.
