Crew, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Have you ever had an amazing boss, mentor or leader leading you? Can you us a story or anecdote that helps illustrate why this person was such a great leader and the impact they had on you or their team?
Oh my have I had an amazing Boss.
I think what made him a great boss, was that, while sometimes he had to delegate projects, he allowed us to gravitate and take ownership of projects that we were interested in. Allowing us to take the time, to dive deep into our projects, taking ownership, finding the flaws, finding the better processes, gave us the opportunity to become that subject matter expert and allowed me to be able to
1. Refine/learn the way that I work best
2. Allowed me to be able to defend design decisions to more people outside the “creative industry”
3. Expand on my skillset and learn things that were “out of my scope of job”
His management style was real relaxed, but still held high expectations. He never micromanaged, unless he absolutely had to. That style made him approachable, when thing went awry, or a mistake was made.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I help small business embrace their bold through strong brand identity.
I got started late as I didn’t pick up design until halfway through college. Once I got a taste of design and how much fun it was, I couldn’t pass it up. Starting in the sports world I stayed there for a few years before venturing out into a wider net of clients and design. That is where I found the love for helping small businesses get closer to their dream, by partnering with them to create high class brand identity systems for they business.
I’m most proud of my work, when the client absolutely loves it and gets them ONE STEP closer to achieving their dream. I want to work side by side, hear their ideas and bring their story to life. I mainly provide a visual identity system for my clients, and have expanded into adding in website design and development.
Dreams are big, I want my clients to achieve their dreams, and to achieve their dreams, they need to go bold. To not take the chance lightly and to go in it full steam. That is what I help them do, from a visual identity stand point. I go right besides them, rooting them on, hearing their dreams, helping them get one step closer with a bold identity that they can be proud of wearing on their shirt, or hat, or wherever, and stand back and say, this is a dream come true.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to truly help my clients achieve their dream, and give them a strong bold visual identity to go with it.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think one of the most rewarding aspects of being a creative, is that the possibilities are truly only limited by ourselves. If we can dream it, it can (most likely) be done. I get to come up with great ideas, push the boundaries and have fun for a living.
