We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kenneth Kynt Bryan. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kenneth Kynt below.
Kenneth Kynt, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there an experience or lesson you learned at a previous job that’s benefited your career afterwards?
You know, I’ve learned that you can do whatever your heart desires. My teachers taught me that hard work, discipline, dedication, persistence, and attention to detail are the key factors that determine whether or not what you are trying to accomplish will come to fruition. […] I suffered from low self-esteem due to bullying which made me insecure and doubtful as to what was my purpose in life. People laughed at me, harassed me, and called me every filthy name you can think of because of the way I looked. Dancing helped change all that. I still sometimes deal with issues of discrimination and hate but that won’t stop me from accomplishing my goals.
Musically, I learned so much from my first recording sessions with Kurt Brunus, George Piazza, John Larner Aka DJ Cyberjive, Josh Eustis aka Tel Fon Tel Aviv, and Star Wilson. All of these extraordinary humans helped me to find my true voice.
I would have to say listen to your heart artistically and make sure that you are well informed on the business aspects of the music industry if you intend to pursue music a career. Be open and willing to accept criticism from esteemed professionals. Protect your art! Make sure you copyright your songs. Build a team that you can trust. Trust your instincts. And most importantly, never give up! Because you’ll never know how far you’ll go!
Kenneth Kynt, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Well… my name is Kenneth Kynt Bryan, International Dance Music Recording Artist, Actor, Model, Dancer-Choreographer, Educator hailing from New Orleans, Louisiana.
As far a music is concerned, my love for House Music began when I would hear artists like Deee Lite, Crystal Waters, CeCe Peniston, Ten City, PM Dawn, Boney M, Petshop Boys, C&C Music Factory, Kevin Aviance, Mariah Carey, Junior Vazquez, Peter Rauhofer, David Morales, by either playing them at home on my CD player or blasting from the speakers at night on the dance floors of the Legendary black gay clubs Club Lexxus, Club Attractions, Wolfendales, Pin Stripes & Lace and Society Page. I had an extensive collection of all sorts of music, like every album, remix album, import album, hard to find mixes unreleased songs you name it! I had it! I mean that’s my thing.
While at Boys-town New Orleans, I started writing and recording original songs. Bootleg remixes of my song “Day After Day”, thanks to Napster and the newly developing mp3 technology, began to surface in clubs around the world for which I was offered my first recording contract. I’m inspired by many different artists, styles, genres, moods, and things. I draw from personal, other people, and imaginative experiences to craft songs. It’s a very similar process when I’m working on choreography. My uniqueness can’t really be defined.
Wow! I am really excited for 57 Seconds. An upcoming film project I worked on this summer alongside the incomparable Morgan Freeman and amazing Josh Hutcherson. The film centers around a tech blogger that lands an interview with a tech guru and stops an attack on him. He finds a mysterious ring that takes him back 57 seconds into the past. It’s directed by Rusty Cundieff and written by Macon Blair. I was so blessed to work with the amazing Mr. Cundieff previously on the reboot of the classic horror cult franchise Tales From The Hood 2 as Golliwog. Filming 57 Seconds was totally a dream come true! My role in the film is very fun, mysterious, and a must-see!
I recently released my new single Heal Your Soul. It’s is a very fun and upbeat dance heavy Bounce Trap hybrid song with the message of love! My new untitled album is forthcoming in the next few months but you can expect to see the visuals for Heal Your Soul very soon. We recently shot the music video and it was a fantastic voyage! I am known as New Orleans first documented House Music recording artist. my catalog of songs Slan more than twenty years with records released worldwide with some of the most influential dance floor – club music hit makers’s. My style is an eclectic mix of electro-tribal circuit house with a hefty serving of big-room arena synergistic anthems that will uplift your spirit and transport you to the dance floor.
My success comes thanks in part to a very wide and vast assortment of phenomenal human beings, organizations, producers, directors, and teachers that have given me their time, commitment, and magnificent unyielding support since I was a child. While in foster care I lived at Methodist Home and Boystown of New Orleans. Boystown afforded me the opportunity to have a stable environment, invested in my education, and helped me to pursue my modeling and musical aspirations.
A few personal career-defining moments for me was when Jerome Farley, Continuous Cool Label, told me that Legendary DJ Producer Junior Vasquez was playing all of the remixes from my single “Makes Me Hot”, DJ Roger Sanchez playing my song “Show The Dj Some Luv” on his popular radio show Release Yourself, having my songs on DJ Charts alongside Beyonce and Britney Spears, and signing to the legendary Trax Records and having radio and club play all over the world.
