We were lucky to catch up with Angela Lauren recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Angela, thanks for joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
I love to surprise my clients with Welcome Gifts after they book their wedding date with me. It shows that I know they could have booked with anyone else but I’m honored that they chose my company. I’ll typically fill a box with essentials to help them relax while planning their wedding day.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Angela Lauren, I’m a photographer and videographer that specializes in weddings, engagements and elopements. I started my company in 2016. My favorite thing about this line of work is that it’s not work at all. I’m honored to become besties with my clients and share in their special moments. Capturing memories that will be passed down for years to come.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
In 2020, when the pandemic struck, our industry was shut down like never before. We were not able to gather in large events and my creativity became dormant. This time was a massive struggle having to distance from everyone but my love for elopements began to blossom. I was able to get even closer to clients (with masks of course) in a more intimate setting with just a small amount of family and friends present and it made me fall in love with this line of work even more.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
When I first started this journey, I was pretty self taught. There are so many resources on Instagram and YouTube now that help create a seamless business and client experience. I wish I knew more about mentorship’s early on as well.
