Sade, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
I have always had interest in wellness. By education, I have a Masters degree in Public Health, so I’ve always been community centered. Meditation was my pathway to wellness. When I turned 30 it felt like everything I had worked so hard for no longer made sense nor was it making me happy. Meditation led me to some hard truths and decisions. So I set out on a journey to make me happy.This journey included publishing my first book, “Welcome Individuality,” available on Amazon. My journey to happiness also pushed me into a pivot. I became certified in Reiki. Reiki truly changed the way o view life, myself, and the power we hold in our own healing. Covid accelerated the pivot and it really led me down a path of relying solely on meditation and reiki to get me through the upheaval. Reiki and readings really helped me support other people in the many transitions ranging from death to job loss. It was a time where people were really trying to figure a new way of life out and I was grateful I had the tools to help them. These interactions really revealed to me that people not only need help in crisis situations but intentional help in defining their personal power. It was awe inspiring to see people shift their mindsets and release years of traumatic experiences from a reiki session with me. I’m thankful my clients trust me with such a personal yet beautiful task.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m better known to people in my community as Sade Sade but also #healerbae. I’m a southern laid back ever evolving mermaid unicorn fairy. I know that’s a lot but I’m into magical things. First knowing that the magic is within us. Our gift to the world is like a fingerprint, and it’s best illuminated when we stand in our truths. Truth is medicine. In order to truly heal, we have to face the truth about ourselves. My granny was the first person to show me those sentiments.
My grandmother was the first healer I’ve ever known. A healer does not heal you. They help you heal yourself. She was a healer before it became a trendy word. She fed people both figuratively and literally. Her altar was her porch. She had some country but wonderful sayings that were both hilarious but made you think. (Check out my oracle deck dedicated to her called The Granny Girl Oracle.) The community was her congregation. She had an amazing heart and was a truth teller to her core. I’ve always aspired to have those attributes. Meditation really unveiled things I had been doing my whole life and put a name to it, but it took honesty with myself and my situation. I often say I was raised by God because my grandmother was my first taste of divinity. She led me down this healing path in her own way, from her porch into the community.
I offer a number of services through my website Fleur De Lune Reiki and Healing. I have completed hundreds of sessions. These services range from reiki, readings, in person meditation to spiritual coaching. These sessions may include herbal spiritual remedies including floor washes and baths and other curios.
Along with reiki, meditation, readings and spiritual coaching, I also help with love ones who are transitioning. I have aided many people in their transitions back to Spirit. It has been one of my most rewarding parts of my practice. Teaching is my other favorite part of my practice. I really get to see my walk all over again. I teach both Reiki and Meditation and I also offer some spiritual mentorship for people starting their walks with spirituality.
I’m most proud of the difference being in connection with people makes. I teach meditation class every Monday at Zubada Natural Hair Care in Mobile, Al at 6pm. Being able to see physical, spiritual and emotional changes in people really makes me happy. If there was one thing to set me apart, it’s my authenticity. You can’t reach the people you need from pretending. As my sister says, “Lives are hanging in the balance.” It’s important I show up, own my mistakes and truth but also find the power in them as well.
Fleur De Lune Reiki and Healing is all about defining your personal power. I know what it feels like to lose yourself and I know what it feels like to get yourself back. I believe in honesty, developing spiritual acumen and boundaries. I have a heart for people but not at the expense of myself and I want to help others develop in those ways. I tell people don’t come to me if you’re not ready to do the work or be honest with yourself because you’ll be wasting both of our time. Healing journeys are not easy but they are very necessary to break generational patterns.
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Becoming Supernatural by Joe Dispenza and All About Love by Bell Hooks have really impacted both my thinking and philosophy. Becoming Supernatural really taught me how living in the moment and being intentional about our thoughts can really change our lives. All About Love taught me how love and true honesty are both very radical ideals. All About Love opened my eyes to how most people aren’t truly loved but merely tolerated. Hooks also leans into the idea that society perpetuates and demonizes the act of true love from childhood. Every angle of love must be looked at to see how we can make it better.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
That’s a really good question. I would say yes I would choose this path over again. It’s like taking off rose colored glasses, once you do, you’ll never experience life the same again. This journey has been an unlearning of everything I know to be true. People are sometimes in awe of the glamour of having spiritual connection but it’s literally like being reborn every couple of months. It’s not easy but on the other side true happiness and inner knowing waits. That’s so beautiful to me.
