Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Niketa Bush LaTrina McDonald. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Niketa Bush, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
We wanted to start a business doing something we enjoy by providing services and products that people would always need. We have both worked in different fields by choice and as well as because of life demands, working in those fields has helped us to see this dream continually develop and hopefully be around for several generations.
Niketa Bush, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
We are first cousins through our mothers. We come from a large family that has many talented individuals. We decided to use our areas of strength when starting the business. It works well because we do not step on each other’s toes, our roles are very clear.
Niketa studied Nursing in college. She is very creative and very hands on with creating products, laundry solutions, organization concepts, basically all front end duties. She works with our customers taking care of their valuables.
LaTrina studied Business and Criminal justice in college. She works mostly in the office focusing on office operations, accounting and marketing,
We want each of our clients to know each of them are special to us. We take pride in taking notice of the little details when providing our services. We pride ourselves on going above and beyond every time a service is completed.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
We strongly believe every experience in life happens for a reason whether it be professional or personal. We take the good and bad and use it to our advantage. For example, we both have experienced bad managers so we discussed how we would treat our employees. We understand the importance of treating people fairly. We know it is time consuming and costly to hire, train and retrain if necessary. Another lesson is becoming disciplined in schedules and understanding how to create room for unforeseen mishaps. Having a business requires planning and being very flexible. Things happen that are out of our hands, it could be family emergencies, car trouble, or bad weather but you have to always have a backup plan so always leave room in the schedule for those things.
Have you ever had to pivot?
We pride ourselves on focusing on the smallest details. We understand the lifestyle of being a parent. The only constant is change. For example, A soccer mom changed her delivery status from her home to the soccer field due to needing the correct uniform. Having the necessary schedule allowance made the is a win-win situation
