We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Sam Luu. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Sam below.
Sam, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
Before Hurricane Harvery I use to work in Logistics for a whole sale furniture Company that works with Commercial business/Residential business.
When Hurricane Harvery struck change my whole course & career path. Got my certification in Personal Traning and taken other classes in other certifications related to my training that will help my training business and also aid certain demographics of clients.
During the process before I was able to obtain my LLC. I was evicted from my apartment in Energy Corridor and homeless living in my car for several months in the course of 06/18.
That was my lowest point of my life, stress, depression, anxiety had all effects of me. Faith and mindset, importantly the man above shined a light on me to get up off my knees and find what ever to get me off my feet to not be in the ground and get up off out of that hole.
Lesson I instill & teach my clients is Discipline can be taught but earned. Everything in life you have to pursue it yes there are going to be bumps and curves along the way but it’s how you overcome them and tackle them on. Fitness helped saved, mold, shape my perspective in anything i do but prepares me in ghe real world reality.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Born in Alief, TX raised in Southern California.
Moved back to Texas during the Landers Quake in the morning of Memory day one of the biggest earthquakes in Cali 7.7 on the rector scale.
During HS I got into training/Bodybuilding at the age of 17. First membership at Bally’s Total Fitness. When Ballys went bankrupt stopped going to the gym. During that time had a shoulder injury wanted to get back into shape try to find ways to train with an injury. Henced worked a 8-5 til Harvey Hurricane hit and got my Training Certification in Personal Training.
I have other certifications in •Correctives Exercise •Functional Exercise •Streching & mobility •Strength & Conditioning •Athlete Training •Rehab 7+yrs experienced
With Training is not about the asthetic part its their journey wether weight loss, recovery from an injury, or wanting to look better and better themselves. That to me is the most promising part I get to enjoy. Get to see them transform from beginning to end. That is the main reason why I became an Independent Master Trainer to help thise that need my help.
Currently working on my personal brand that i have been working on for 3 yrs.+ Keep on the look out

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
Funny question? Reason why I chose this question because on social media there was a feed about the blue pill & red pill very similar to this one. Let me refresh what it was about. Given 2 pills blue pill if taken take what you know now and jump back 20 yrs or take the red pill and setlle for $50 million.
So my answer to both your question and the the pill question is I would take the blue pill and yes ilI would go back and take what I know to grow and not change my profession. It’s the course and path I was made to go through to better myself as an individual/entrepreneur. The process is learning and to keep on learning. The course of action led me here to this point and I would not change that but to move and excel forward.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I feel i havent made it or gotten to the point yet. I’m still learning and growing as an individual, business owner.
As mentioned in the beginning from homeless to where I am now and still growing/learning to conting to inspire and help others along the way to the best of my abilities. By doing so is the course of actions.
It would be selfish of me to take the credit but I would have not gotten to where I am with out 6 people who my circle is small and have an impact of my journey and who have seen me at my lowest. These individual I can call friends, PhamuLee
